My most memorable food experience was when my family went to Philippines last summer to visit relatives there. Every summer there would always be a fair/carnival and my family and cousins would go to the fair/carnival at night, then we would walk around buying snacks at the food stalls. At the end of our walkabout, we would always go to this same stall that sells Balut. Balut is a street food that is a boiled duck embryo, and is eaten from the shell. I don’t eat it myself anymore(I use to when I was little), I eat a different variation of it. There are two types that I know of. One with the duck and one without. The one without is called Penoy. My parents and aunt would eat Balut(one with the duck) and encourage two of my cousins, my brother and I to try it. I have been to scared to ever try it again.
