In this foods lab, my partner and I had a lot of trouble following the instructions. The beginning was like any other normal foods lab, but when we were combining our liquid ingredients with our wet ones is when we messed up. We were ready to put our muffins in the oven but we realized we forgot to combine the egg in the liquid ingredients. We had to take it out of the tray and put it back in the bowl, so we can add the egg in that way. The final result came out fine, it wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst either.

This is one of the messiest foods lab I’ve ever done so far. I had to make sure all the equipment used are thoroughly cleaned and washed properly and the counters wiped down. I’m not concerned with the safety and the sanitation in my group because we are aware of where we leave our supplies and how we use it. However, being able to clean your hands and the supplies properly would prevent other people from spreading germs and from contaminating the foods. That’s why I think sanitation is a very important step before starting to cook anything.
