My Model Town

Founded in 1873, Thomas Chester. An explorer from England found this big area and thought to put a town there, there were cherry trees everywhere that is why this town is named after them. Thomas started a small business in the town and was named after him, Chester’s Cotton. He recruited some older folk to work for him but they didn’t do well, he then thought about hiring children because of their small nimble fingers. His business got more attention and now its very famous.

Media Fluency Reflection

  • How was the ease of access in building the town, despite this being a very super basic software? It was easy building the town but the angles of each building or piece confused me, I would spend a few minutes on trying to figure out each angle for however many pieces I had to do.
  • Were you able to apply the skills you learned in the planning stages appropriately to a digital environment? Yes indeed I did, I started with the rough draft and then to the good copy. Once I found out all the angles for the pieces I was all set.
  • What were the sources you researched that made this an “authentic make-believe” town? No I didn’t use or find any sources of information.
  • Is there other software online that could have done the job better? Explain. No I think that this website was great, it was easy to use and was pretty straight forward.
