Social Studies 11 Final Reflection

I can explore.

During our field trip to Minnekhada, I explored the area we hiked on and tried to find the flowers and plants that I needed to research on and found one of them and others were burned during the fire. I explored the materials in other assignments and got the information I needed to complete my assignments. Overall I finished this course, trying my best and I could have tried harder and spent more time on my projects. I am glad that I took this class and I am proud of my work.

Core Competency Reflection

One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is to watch something for a little bit to get me more relaxed and for me to get my brain flowing. I get these ideas especially for this assignment I had to experience the moments to get these stories.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I read a book or watch a show for me to be relaxed and in the mood to do more work. I do this if I have lots of work to do, I take small breaks so I can work well.

In this photo, I wanted to take a series of photos in a library from a long shot to a medium and then a close up at the end. This photo here is a medium shot of the bookshelves and the bookshelf is in focus and the viewer should be looking at that. I made this photo look moody and darker than usual to have a calm and quiet safe space that is welcoming and is pleasing to see. I chose this angle and the area because it is an easy area to go to and it isn’t very busy in the library so it was easy to get the photo without anyone coming into the room that I was in. I enjoyed making this photo and I am able to find good areas to shoot my photos.

I can explore materials and actions. I can show whether I like something or not by researching and when I researched on my god project, I used some websites to further branch my ideas and information and helped me develop my poster.

The continuity about this god is he was worshipped in the old kingdom for his guidance of travelling through the desert at night, a change is he was worshipped more during the new kingdom. He was known for his guidance to travellers who worshipped him.

I’ve worked hard on this project and I learned to understand how to use scripts and how to create a game like this.

I contribute during group activities, cooperate with others, and listen respectfully to their ideas. I can work with others for a specific purpose. For example when I worked on this poster, I worked with my partners and contributed to the group by giving ideas, helping with building the poster and I even bought the poster board for this project. I understand others ideas and build on it and I can make decisions with them to find the perfect idea for our poster, the poster turned out great and thanks to my group we were able to accomplish this.

This is my Cheat Sheet for my Chemistry Final That I’ve been working on for a bit now. This is my Artifact and I’ve worked hard on it and it will help me understand and study all the units we learned this semester.

Core Competency

I can explore materials and actions. I can show whether i like something or not, for example this cheat sheet has units I know and don’t know, I don’t have much but it will have all the units i need to be ready for my final. I am able to show my learning by doing good on tests or work and I work hard to achieve it. I can get new ideas on what I want to do when it comes to chemistry, sports, or anything.

3D Game Design Self-Assessment

During my blender assignment for creating my character and encountered a problem, I had a problem with my rigging and I wasn’t able to go to the control rig, luckily I asked Ms. Mulzet for help and she told me to restart and watch the tutorials carefully. After I restarted I managed to fix the problem and rigify to get my control rig and now i am no longer behind in the class and I’m thankful I was able to fix my problem.

I can think “outside the box” to get innovative ideas and persevere to develop them when I work on my blender or unity assignments and I get ideas while I do those projects.

Woodworking 11 Critical Thinking

Mr. Huber taught our class how to use the mortising machine, and making the mortise for our coffee table. I’ve already used it before but forgot a few steps so learning how to do it again helped me remember what to do. After the demo both me and my partner soon started doing the mortise, since Mr. Huber helped us by giving us the demo and doing it a year before I understood how to use it and managed to cut my mortises. The end product of using the mortising machine was quite good except one piece got stuck and made a bad mark but that doesn’t affect my project that much.

Core Competency Goals

One strategy that stimulates my imagination is reading books or playing games to give ideas on what to do, my friends give me ideas aswell helping me think of great ideas. I use my creativity to create things or come up with new ideas on ways to get better at something. I have a great imagination because I can come up with ideas sometimes instantly.

When it seems the good ideas just won’t come to me, I play video games or read to help calm myself or create space in my mind to think creatively. My creativity is big and when I try hard I can do anything. It takes effort to create anything but thats a risk you have to willingly take. I can manage my thinking and I can choose between different ideas and choose the idea most flexible for me.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I relax by breathing in and out slowly or I close my eyes for a minute to calm down and to bring my mood up so I can continue or start my day. I am usually focused but sometimes I lose focus so I have to re-focus to keep up in the class. Doing these methods help me and they don’t disturb anyone else either.
