Tech leadership Communication competency self assessment

Course planning website

The course planning website is an activity that I partook in which made use of the Communication core competency.(I’m not sure how I would present this in this post so heres a picture.)

During the planning process for the course we were bouncing slot of ideas off other people. I was able to listen to other peoples ideas and respond accordingly by giving constructive criticism on why certain aspects of the idea were not best suited for the website. At a point, all that were working on the website were in a call and we were able to delegate tasks through a group chat made for those working on the website. Through the group chat we effectively communicated with each other and posted deadlines and communicated to make sure we were on schedule. I voiced my ideas pretty well, by giving insightful suggestions as to why my idea could be good but also by posing pros and cons.

For next time I think we could maybe be a little more streamlined and meet together every so often to get verbal confirmation because even though we used a group chat, we couldn’t tell if everyone had actually read everything and is up to speed. Also, maybe it would’ve been a good idea to have a few people in charge of leading the whole operation because we sort of just had random people putting things in the group chat.
