The Big Final Project (Ukrainian Project)

Self Reflection

  1. What skills of you does this showcase? This project shows off my skills by researching up infomation and putting data into a powerpoint.
  1. What core competency does this fill? The project filled in the Critical and Reflective Thinking becasue i had to brainstorm my own ideas/ thoughts and anwser my own questions becasue i was working by myself.
  1. Why did you choose this?  I chose this because i did a really good job on this assignment by taking it seriously and working above and beyound on it.
  1. What did you learn during this project? I learned a little more about my backround/ cutlure and also learned more of my history.

Core Competecny Reflection

I can understand and share infomation about a topic interest in a clear, organized way. I chose this one because i find it talks about me in a short sentence easily.

I ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener. This “i can” statement describes me very well because im a good listener and contribute to my classmates questions.

I am kind to others, and support others when they need it. Im always their for a friend and classmate when they are having a hard time and always there to comfort them if they want me to.

I work with others to achieve a goal. I am working on this goal because sometimes when working with new people i dont attend the conversation once confortable but i plan on achieving this goal by joining after school activities to get more social and get more outside my comfort zone.

My Future Career

In order to achieve my career there are a few steps i need to take. First, i need to graduate high school so that i can apply to Douglas’ Criminology Program. At the same time i will also need a job so i can pay for tuition throughout my degree. Once graduated i can apply at various insitutions to start my career as a detective. I may or may not start with that job tittle right away but i will work towards it. Therefore, in order to earn my position as a detective, i will need to graduate high school, obtain a criminology degree, graduate post-secondary, and finally apply myself and work towards becoming a detective.

Core Competency Reflection

I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others. I chose this one because i use my ideas wisely to create unique things, and collaborate my thoughts/ideas with others frequently. I also connect with this “i can statement” very well becuase it describes me a lot.

I can develop a body of creative work over time in an area of interest or passion. I can get ideas that are groundbreaking ordisruptive and can develop them to form a body of work over time that has a impact in my community or beyond.

I can reflect on my thinking. I am working on that goal becuase i want to start thinking about my future and make sure that i am on the right path towards my goals. In order to achieve this goal i will right now my thoughts/plans and sort out the most effecient route forward.

Working with others at your desk

Communication CC

Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in is when answering a question or helping a friend out.

In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by agreeing with group discussions and collaborating my ideas and thoughts.

As an active listener, I notice that I tend to lean in and nodding to reactionary facial expressions.

I feel bored this Monday morning

Personal Health and Awareness

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I sleep or hang out with my friends to boost my immune system. When I am sad, angry or frustrated, doing… helps me be more productive or calm. I listen to music and find another hobby to distract myself. Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle include eating a nutritious meal. Or practicing my lacrosse skills and going for a walk with my family.

Core Competency Reflection

  1. I work with others to achieve a goal. when playing a team sport with my classmates.
  2. I can show a sense of accomplishment and joy. In PE class because i find the activities we play fun and exciting.  
  3. I can tell what is important to me because i can recognize that communication is key in a group. 
  4. I can understand and share information about a topic of interest in a clear, organized way because i take pride in things i appreciate.

Linear equations:

This is a linear equation. i can tell from the graph because linear’s are always straight lines from any angle. I can tell from the equation because there’s no exponent.

2x-3y=12

This is a linear equation. I can tell from the graph because it’s a straight line and linear’s are always straight from any possible angle. i can tell from the equation because there is no exponents.

y-3=4(x+1)

Non-Linear equations:

This is a non-linear equation. i can tell from the graph because non-linears have curved lines. i can tell from the equation because it has a exponent and only non-linears have those.

y=2x

· I explored mathematical ideas using technology when I did this assignment and khan academy.

· I analyzed data and used criteria to draw conclusions when I wrote my answers because i had to review my work to get my answer.

· I justified my conclusions with evidence when i show my work.

  1. The ways I communicate at school differ from how I communicate at ____ (soccer/ work/ hockey/ piano lessons/ family events etc) in these ways?

The ways i communicate at school is different from how i communicate outside of school because i feel more comfortable outside of school and not pressured when i am with my family or with my sports team.

2. Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in?

i ask questions when i don’t understand a concept. or i ask a friend/classmate about something im not certain about to make sure i’m on the right track.

3. My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include?

some of my strategies for collecting relevant information for tasks would be taking notes. getting extra practice so i have a better understand of it.
