Shakshuka & Rustic Bread

In this lab we made something completely out of my comfort zone, Shakshuka. It was a knife skills and Mise en place method, similar to a frittata but instead of having a base of eggs it has a base of tomatoes. We made Rustic style bread with this meal. It was a quick bread method. It was prepared the day before and sat overnight to let the yeast activate and grow. Then it was baked the day the shakshuka was made.

I gave myself a 5 for this lab because it was kind of similar to the fritatta so I understood how to mise en place everything before it was ready to be cooked. I didn’t enjoy this lab to much because I don’t like eating this type of food. However, the bread was great! 😉
