For this lab me and my partner had to collaborate with another pair to combine our data and work together to fill out the data table and answer any questions we may have. I collaborated with my partner during this lab to ensure we tied the string on each end of the dialysis tube tightly, this collaboration helped the accuracy of our results . Next time i would talk with the group were working with to ensure we all have everything we need from eachother.

Critical Thinking

For the protein synthesis cut and paste we were giving each of the peices and told to cut them out and paste it in the correct order, aswell as label the parts. I had to think critially during the process of making it to ensure each of the parts were placed in the correct order and labeled effectively. next time i would trust my initial assumption and not second guess myself.

Curricular Competencies Reflection

I learned about the connection between the story Marrow Thieves and the real world in the aspects of natural conditions. The story takes place in a an apocalyptic dystopian future where the earth is destroyed by global warming and greed. This is similar to how the earth is right now, and is a possible outcome for the future. I grew in my writing by being more Concorde and going over the text to correct grammar mistakes. I can take what I learned and work towards reconciliation by seeing what negative personalities caused the destruction in the story and work towards not showing those personalities.

I feel I grew in my communication because I effectively communicated my understanding of the connection between the story and the real world in an effective manner. I kept the writing organized and it flowed well.

During this lab I demonstrated collaboration when i evenly distributed the work load between me and my partner and we worked effectively with each other. i also helped other groups that were stuck on the lab with their technique. next time i would try to be more precise with my volume of NaOH added to the solution.

I demonstrated Collaboration when i worked with a partner on a group assignment. Some skills I gained while doing this activity are how to work well with a partner and think creatively to make up sentences. If I were to do this assignment again I wouldn’t do anything differently.

Reflections on Competencies and Content

One skill we learned in class was taking feedback from others on our projects and using it to improve the project. This is the same to testing products in real life as you should see what the customers think about it as well as what you think about it. Another skill we learned in the class is giving helpful feedback on others projects to assist them on improving it in any way. This is helpful as in the real world you can get paid just to try products and give feedback on it. The format we use to give feedback is T.A.G. Which is T. Say something you like, A. suggest a way they can improve the assignment and G. Ask a question about their assignment.

I demonstrated collaboration the first day of this elective when me and 4 other people had to design and present a product from a bunch of random items. We were instructed to plan out as a team and create as a team and we did that.

Script on Comparisons

I showed communication strengths in this assignment when I spent the time practicing with my group, and talking with my teacher to help with content I don’t understand. I then presented this with my group by doing a skit of our script, we all got 100% on the assignment.

Next time I will use my class time more wisely so me and my group don’t have to rush later on. I will do this by keeping focused the whole time.
