CPR Reflection

What was something you learned that you didn’t know or consider before?

I learned how to properly do CPR. I always see CPR procedures in shows and movies, but I was never taught how to actually do it and the steps you have to take before doing CPR. Those would be like checking in on them, example: tapping there shoulder (steps to take before doing CPR on somebody).

What is a key takeaway from the Theory or Practical CPR unit?

To never let anyone die with out trying to help, you should try to help people when there dying even if you don’t know them. Another takeaway would be that I learned to do CPR which could help a dying person.

How does this unit connect to the nutrition unit learned previously?

It talks about health, like heart attacks and the effects it has on your body.

Self-Assessment of Core Competencies

I work with others to achieve a goal.

I do chose this because I communicate with my friends/peers a lot and work on achieving the goal

I can show a sense of accomplishment and joy. I take pride in my work and myself.

I make sure to get my work done.

I can analyze evidence to make judgements.

I do this a lot with group work and I give them advice.

I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others.

Since I do a lot of group work with others I can create/build ideas well.

I take on roles and responsibilities in a group

I need to work on this more because sometimes I find myself off task

Core competency self assessment

When your course schedule says 'group work' and you think 'hard work' | RCNi

I think I did a good job on communicating this week with my peers. This week we did a good amount of group work and I thought I contribute to my group well. I contributed by giving out ideas and my voicing my opinions; for reading and looking at the potential schedules for next year, my role during for the “schedules for next year” were to write down peoples thoughts and opinions on the schedule. I wrote down their ideas and read ideas of other people and decided with the group, whether we agreed or no.

Favourite website

https://www.youtube.com/

My favourite website would have to be YouTube, their is so much things to do on YouTube. Almost Every video you want to see is there. There are endless amount of entertainment that you can find, funny, sad, ETC. Those are some reasons why YouTube is my favorite website.

Favourite video

I do not have a favourite video, but I do have a favourite show which I will talk about. This show is called On My Block, this is a Netflix original show that came out in the year 2018, this show is very easy to get hooked on to, after watching the first episode of this show I knew I would watch the whole thing and that’s what I did. After watching it I knew it was my favourite show. This show is very entertaining and is one of those shows you would re-watch.

Winnipeg Jets' Andrew Copp (9), Nikolaj Ehlers (27) and Mark Scheifele (55) rush to goaltender Connor Hellebuyck (37) after he made the game-winning save against the Nashville Predators during the shootout following NHL hockey action in Winnipeg, Sunday, March 25, 2018. This is my favourite image because this was probably one of the best moments in my life, there are a lot of great moments in my life and this is one I can show on an image. The 17-18 Winnipeg Jets (Hockey) made/Clinched the playoffs for the first time in about 2 years. This was my last year in Winnipeg and it was fitting that they made it to the playoffs. They had a good run in the playoffs and lasted until the conference finals where they lost, despite losing I was still happy.

Favourite Quote

“I can accept failure, everyone fails at something, but I cant accept not trying” – Michael Jordan

This quote is my favourite because I think this could be towards anything. Not just basketball, this quote can also relate to life, If your going through some rough patches in life don’t give up because that wont get you anywhere and will make it worse. Instead try, trying will make everything better.

English 9 reflection

The below is my identity poem which is an example of my thinking competency, the paragraph/image below is my reflection.

the image above is my visual of the core competency thinking, I chose a light bulb because I think it represents what “thinking” is. The words on the image represent my thinking on the poem above. “think” for visualizing what I’m going to do, “learn” is about me learning who I am and “question” would be me questioning myself during the poem and learning about me.

Choose your own Adventure: The Vaccine Incident

Communication reflection

Our project is about a vaccine that was released by the government which causes the cells to mutate which makes you a zombie, all this was an accident and now you try to escape the apocalypse. You use Twine by using google chrome, and now you make panels and write your own story. Our group communicated through online and in person, we gave each other ideas while making the story. I contributed on images for our group, and some ideas for the beginning of the story, we made sure each one of us contributed by telling each others our roles. I think as a group of 3 we worked well and also spent our time well. We made decisions in class and through talking/texting to each other online, we didn’t really face any complications during the project, but for me I had troubles getting the project on to the edublog, but I figured it out. I’m pretty satisfied with the final product, I liked the subject we did on the story and how we made different plots, overall I’m happy with the project. I’m not to sure what we could have to make the process better, I think we did our project pretty smoothly and rarely had any errors.
