I have sent an email to your SD43 accounts. You need to use these to access Microsoft Teams. That is the main place our learning will happen. Log in and check in to your Teams (there is a forum place on the main page). Welcome to our continued learning journey!
Category: Comp Culture 12
I have sent an Email from my School contact Email address. It is is still davking@sd43.bc.ca I sent it to your parents primary contact. Ultimately it will be your addresses that need to log into our class and submit some assignments as we move forward.
Try logging into the Office 365 and play around with Teams. I may switch over to OneNote or OneNote too. But all of these programs with your school district account so its just a matter of loading them from the Microsoft 365 page. I will be trying to add you to your class (Comp Culture or SS9) on TEAMS tomorrow.
We are all going to get through this feeling better, stronger and smarter. Thanks for putting up with me while I navigate through it.

I am hoping this link works. Log into it. It is a Digital book our Librarian Mr Salambier got me at the start of the year. It is like a mini version of our text book? Good hyper links and expands into more knowledge, but overall it is less academic then our “World History” book. I will be using it more as the year goes on. Top link goes to library, you need to scroll down to Interactive Library and select “THE FIRST CIVILIZATIONS” near the bottom. I will walk you through this at some point (when it is essential). The second link goes straight to the book. But it appears you have to be already signed in to the E -Library

if you want the guided notes come see me.
also we went over the last units exam.
Hieroglyphics
we watched an intro movie on Egypt. Its mostly about who discovered the societies and how the treasures have been dealt with. But a good intro to the long history of Egypt.
In class we looked at hieroglyphics. Bonus marks on last test to anyone who makes one worth putting on my wall! hieroglyph-key
Stone Age conclusions
We discussed the rest of the week today. You have a Cradles map due Friday (10 marks for accuracy, 5 for effort, but only entered in out of 7). Here is a good KEY / Guide. Cradles_Labeleds or Cradle map KEY
Also handed out two more worksheets. One is a primary document on going to school for an ancient student. The other is a textbook key term search (good for test study). Neither are digital files currently and they need to picked up in class.
You will be getting a timeline assignment after the map is completed (due Monday). We will review for a test (test is Tuesday) on Monday in class.
stone henge
Why was it built? I don’t know, so you tell me. Your job today is make a theory to explain why Stonehenge was built and explain it to me. Use what we’ve discussed about Stone age Culture and how man developed culture, religious, farming, villages, and anything else you would like to work into a theory on the construction of a megalithic stone age shrine.

Inventions
We classify the OLD and NEW stone age by drawing a line between hunter gatherers that lived a nomadic life style (old) and village dwellers harvesting food and taming animals with developing power structures and begging of religions.
