Curricular Competency Reflection
The skills I was developing in my podcast was the skill of reading out loud. Usually I am shy when it comes to reading any text out loud much less my own writing. I exceeded my own expectation with reading my script because I wrote about some tough situations I’ve had to deal with in the past six years. I am extremely proud of how I wrote my script with discussing these important, difficult issues and the flow that my podcast had. During English Studies 12 I have really improved on my ability to write essays or paragraphs incorporating texts from different articles. I’ve drastically improved on my paragraph leads, hooks and conclusions. I will continue to work on my skills of writing essays to prepare me for next year at College!
Core Competency Reflection
In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by using quotes from external resources and artifacts to support my argument or topic. I demonstrated this from when we did debates and in many group discussions.
An example of where I took a significant risk in my thinking, or the expected process was when i wrote my poem. It was an extremely personal poem which was hard for me to write which worked out in the end with the grade I received.
