Communication
In this cell membrane diffusion lab, me and my partners worked simultaneously to achieve our results. At first, we had to discuss which parts we were gonna do as there were two parts to this lab. Me and my partner chose to do part A which dealt with the starch solution. Before starting this lab, we had to come up with a hypothesis. We had no clue on what could happen, however we used our knowledge learnt from the past week to guess the possibilities and in the end we were close to supporting the hypothesis. Most of this lab depended on each other. We communicated our roles such as who would fill up the membrane or close the membrane and overall it was quite successful. After our labs, we had discussion questions where we also communicated within our group to bounce off ideas from one another. We shared our results and they shared theirs to allow us to finish the lab and create a good understanding on the diffusion of the cell membrane.
Thinking
This lab required multiple thinking skills because of the different solutions and how it would react within this dialysis tube. Starting off by coming up with two hypothesis’s. One for the starch solution and one for the glucose solution. Even though it was the same lab, there were two different solutions and we knew it would react differently. Since we tested the water of the glucose water with a test strip, that helped with answering the related questions. Knowing the glucose was able to diffuse through the membrane, that helped us guess what would happen with the starch. In the end with various thinking questions I was able to answer all the questions based off my knowledge.
