My Reflection

Tim Burton in Edward scissor hands uses camera angles and music to portray the different emotions and intentions of the scene.
An example of this is when Kim cuts her hand, the camera is at a low angle the whole scene, but it can mean two different things depending on when you look at it.
In the first part of the scene, it could be showing how her perspective changes from fear of Edward to see the beauty in him. Before this scene, she sees Edward as a scary and threatening person and is very warry about him. But when she sees he can create something beautiful her perspective of him changes.
In the second part of the scene, Edward is shown directly above Kim, with the camera below her. I think this part of the scene is shown in Jim’s thinking, he sees Edward as a threat and sees Kim as a fragile dependent person he needs to keep safe. Edward in this scene is to be a threat because the camera is at a low angle closer to him making him look powerful and, in a way, towering over Kim. Whereas she is below him, to look smaller and weaker.
Therefore, Jim yelled when he did because he thought Kim was in danger but scared Kim. When Kim jerks around to see why Jim had yelled, she slices her hand on Edward’s scissors, which is when the peaceful angelic music stops, showing that the safe and warm feeling and environment that they had has quickly ended and has been replaced by loud and fast drums.
Tim burton uses camera angles and music in this movie to show perspective changes and actions/emotions that can’t be explained in dialogue.

What’s the World Around Town?

My Reflections:

  1. Was I able to identify how geography impacts the town/city with ease? How was I able to find how physical geography impacted these areas? – I was able to identify the impact with ease because of the notes my teacher prided for my class
  2. How did the technology personally affect my learning? What were the pros and cons of using Be detailed in your response here. – I did not personally like using map hub just because it was quite confusing to use and I didn’t really understand some of the components with the marking.
  3. Were you satisfied with the result of your design and solutions? – I don’t really know if I am because it’s (for me) quite a confusing assignment so I don’t know if I did it right.
  4. How would you refine your assignment in the future? – I would maybe do it on a different site or explain better how to do and what’s to be done for the project.

Emily’s About Me!!!!

My Bio

Hello, my name is Emily. This is my About Me Assignment. So some things you need to know about me are that I enjoy sleeping and having time to myself. I like working alone and preferably in silence because I get easily distracted. Usually, when I do get distracted I try to get back on track by rereading the instructions or if I don’t know where we are I ask the teacher or someone around me. The course I have the most trouble with is socials, as I don’t really enjoy the subject and find it hard to get into the work. The sports I enjoy are volleyball and I used to like wrestling but have recently lost interest. Something that all my teachers and I guess some students need to know is that I’m hard of hearing and have trouble in class sometimes, though I don’t think it will be much of a problem in this class.

My Favourite Quote

If the world was blind, how many people would you impress? by, Boonaa Mohammed.

This quote is important to me because I think a lot of people try to work on their appearances before they work on themselves and the brains. Society I think would be a lot better if being smart was “cooler” than having the newest clothes and nice hair.
