Cooking at home: Option 1 Homemade pizza

Today, I made homemade pizza. I did not know what to make for this week’s lab, so I was constantly flipping through my mom’s cook books. My sister actually came up with the idea, she was planning to make pizza for her dinner. I asked her if I could make some with her. After some annoying debating, she finally said “fine” and that is what we spent the day doing. I made two pizzas and my sister made one. We followed a recipe from a cookbook. I have used this pizza recipe before but that was a while ago, it is a long process so we usually just order it. Homemade pizza is the best through, when you compare it to ordered pizza. My grandma makes the best pizza, don’t even get me started on that. Her pizza is a little bit spicy but so tasty. As, the pizza was getting sliced, the black olives shinned, and the mozzarella cheese was all glossy. I could smell the fresh cooked bread in the air and the sauteed banana peppers. I could see the small cut salami pieces hiding under the cheese. My dad cut up some Italian salami to put on the pizza, he cut it real small so you did not get big chunks in one bite. I like the small pieces of salami better than the big slabs of pepperoni you get in your mouth from ordered pizzas. My favorite part was the crunchy crust, every bite had a medium crunch to it. The pizza tasted just as good as it looked. So many favors combining into one, first the gush of tomato sauce, then the gooey mozzarella and lastly the oily black olive taste. The pizza sat for a couple minutes to cool, then is was warm. If I made this dish again, I would like to try a Hawaiian combo which, would be good. One of the challenges I faced was not knowing when to stop kneading the dough, I did over knead the dough of one pizza but it turned out fine. Next time, I will be more careful, I was just excited. My greatest success would have to be when everything came together. All the ingredients prepped and put on, it just felt good to know I accomplished that. I am most proud of accomplishing what I did today with only a few mistakes.
