Apple Muffins: Option 4

Today, I made apple muffins. I wanted to make chocolate chip muffins but when I looked in the fringe, I noticed some of the apples were starting to go bad. So, I wanted to use them to make something. I love eating muffins for breakfast, so why not make some for the morning. I also, thought I could work on my knife skills using the apples. I have been wanting to practice my knife skills because they are not to good. I found a apple muffin recipe in my mom’s cookbook but I altered a few things from it. The recipe wanted 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar, I thought that was to much so I only put one cup in. The recipe, wanted icing for the top but I thought nah simple is good. I asked my mom for some tips on cutting apples and I kind of experimented and followed my own way on learning to improve the skill. My advice for anyone wanting to improve their apple cutting skills, is to get tips from your parents they have been around for awhile, they might know a thing or two. I had trouble cutting the apple core out, it is very sturdy and tough. To overcome this I just applied more strength and made sure I had a good grip on the apple. My greatest success was my muffins puff up, last time I made muffins they did not puff up. So, I am glad I got a good puff on my muffins this time. I also, learned how to cut apples into proportionate slices then to smaller bits. I am most proud of how I put aside what I wanted to make and made something that tasted just as good and saved some apples along the way.
