Graphic Novel Adaptation

Tim Burton, in Edward Scissorhands, used editing in order to make scenes showing how each person feels and to see different views. This makes everything flow better and not be choppy. For example, Tim Burton used a shot reverse shot in the bed room scene to show Edward trying to hide from Kim, and Kim getting settled into her room before she sees Edward. This makes the scene more suspenseful and enjoyable to watch. Using the shot reverse shot Tim Burton was able to capture both the reactions of Edward and Kim. By doing this he improved the enjoyability of the moment in the bedroom. He was able to capture how scared Edward was and how terrified Kim was. This editing shows the different sides of the characters. The shot reverse shot was used throughout the movie to show that people have very different feelings, creating a much more in-depth movie. Without the shot reverse shot Edward scissor hands would not have different character feelings which would make it a lot less interesting to watch.
