I am socially aware when it comes to chemistry because I am able to ask for help when I need it as well as checking my understanding for certain units we cover. When I do this I am able to increase my overall understanding of that area so I can do better when testing my knowledge.
This artifact connects to Social Awareness and Responsibility because for the most part I understand the organics unit in chemistry but there was one thing I was unsure of. So I asked my teacher how models looked in this case for Cis, Trans, or neither, when I asked I was able to understand how to identify them. After asking I was taking my own self awareness into account because I had a test the next day, this way I was able to identify these three items.
When I was completing this assignment I learned different functions and additions to power point. I learned some added features, available such as adding videos, which can then be controlled through keys. Once I finished my power point I was able to share it with a peer for their feedback. After I finished polishing up my project I was able to practice my speaking skills in front of the class by presenting. This was definitely the highlight for my English class so far and I still plan to improve further from here, by practicing my Listening, Speaking, and communicating skills.
During this project I think I used the Personal Social core competency. When I was working on this project I was able to talk to another peer for their impute on anything I could improve for a better presentation and I was able to have a more finished presentation when I went to present. When I finished presenting my project I feel as though it went fairly well. However, if their was anything I could improve, it would be practicing my presentation even more then I did. That way I wont get as nervous and run through it to fast which may cause missing information I wished to share. But, overall in this project I was able to improve upon my personal social skills and I was able to have an enjoyable experience while doing it.
Some of my goals for improving on my study habits and improving study time I think reflect on my strengths and qualities. The reason why I think this is because I am the type of person who likes to try my best and try to get good grades on assignments and tests. I made the decision based on my values, because I value friends and family and enjoy keeping up to date with them. Whether it means meeting with them once in a while or spending time doing either homework or some sort of fun activity. This supports my well being because I like spending time outside of school completing homework or seeing friends to let myself forget about things that could make me worried or stressed. Steps I can take to monitor my goals are; checking that I am meeting what I have set out for myself, whether that be checking how I did on a recent test to see that my extra studying has given me a good mark or checking in with friends.
I manage my stress by doing things that make me relax, like watching a movie with my family or going for a walk outside. This takes my mind off the thing that is causing stress. Technology has caused stress this year when we went online, it was different then just handing an assignment to a teacher. There were steps that had to be done to hand the assignment in properly. Technology can support me in my wellbeing because I can chat to a friend or talk with family I have not been able to see. This helps if I am stressed because it gives me someone to talk to.
This infographic includes what a digital footprint is, the difference between a negative and a positive footprint and how to maintain a positive digital footprint. I used a program called Word because I already know how to use it although I did learn some new functions on it.
Some ways I can work to build and maintain online relationships are: Sending positive messages, sending helpful comments and making sure not to be rude or offend a person in any way. Following these can help me have healthy online digital relationships.
I make digital and ethical choices such as: Never hurting anyone’s feeling’s online or saying anything that could be harmful in order to keep my digital footprint positive, so next time I go to get a job people will see good things about me.
My values around, treat people the way you want to be treated helps me think before I speak and informs my decisions about sending that message that I am not sure about. If I think that it could harm myself or make myself sad I would not send that message. Helping me become a better digital citizen.
