Japanese internment is a horrible experience. Many Japanese families are currently being stripped apart from each other for such a terrible reason of great fear towards Japanese Canadians.
The R.C.M.P. has recently put out a cautionary analysis on the “risk” of Japanese Canadians and the analysis shows that there is little to no risk of Japanese Canadian spies being a worry to the average Canadian citizen. To me breaking families apart and putting them in a place that we don’t even know how well it will work is an over reaction to a worry that has been proven false. I do understand that the average person would be very concerned about having the same treatment of many soldiers and nurses put onto them, but I also understand that the worry of Japanese Canadians assisting or inflicting this treatment is a false belief, as stated by the R.C.M.P.’s analysis.
Very strong racism against Japanese Canadians on the other hand is a very strong and worrying concern. Though I agree that putting Japanese Canadians in camps would prevent some very strong racism, I feel that there are many other options that we could do that doesn’t include removing Canadians from their place of living. I think if we were to do some great research, we could find some far better routes to go down that would lead to a stronger Canada.

Collaborating through an Unknown Acids and Bases Lab

I demonstrated my critical and reflective thinking skills by using information from the acids and bases chart we got to decide whether the unknown chemical was an acid or a base. I also showed this skill by making sure that I followed all steps for the lab to get the correct result. The strategies that I used were that I took the different results from each spot in the spotlight to make an informed decision whether it was an acid or a base. If I were to do this again I would lay out the chemicals so that it is easier to pour them into the different divots.
The ways that I manage stress are, I take deep breaths if I feel I am losing control to calm myself. I manage stress also by thinking hard about what I am getting stressed about, and make it less confusing to me or planning it out in my head.
Coping with technology
At home I have a personal computer that I use everyday, I use it to play with friends, but I also use it to play games by myself. I spend most of my time at home playing games on my computer, so I do think I use it to keep my mental health good, but also to cope with what might be stressful in my life.
Technology During Covid
the 2020 outbreak at first felt like a blessing because, I got to spend all day, playing games and also playing them with my friends, and for the first few months, it was so fun and it was a blessing, but over time, it became a curse, in a way, because I became bored being on my computer, but it was still a bit fun because I was still on my computer. So I felt that being on my computer a lot, kept my stress level down, because it kept me mostly away from, covid and what not, so I was happy, but also bored.
Health in this city is portrayed by our blue hospital and is the top left building. Health is very important in our city because being healthy is a human need, in this city health is very important to it because it is always snowing and sickness is all around.
Safety/Trust
Safety and trust is shown in this city by how small it is, since the city is so small, everyone trust each other and feels safe to be near/with them. Why safety and trust is so important to the well being of people living here and the city itself, is because if you don’t trust your neighbours or feel safe to be around them, why would you ever want to live there.
Entertainment
The entertainment in our ideal city is located in parks, school fields, and even outside your house. Because it’s mostly always snowing in Aloe Vera, the people of Aloe Vera can play snowball fights and winter activities during the long months of winter. Our schools have fields and underground facilities that include gyms, more classrooms, and libraries.
Community
community is very crucial for our city because if there was no community it would be a ghost town or an empty town but with the community the town is way more fulfilled and better. it is represented where the people are having a snowball fight and the people skiing because they have all come together to do something.
Friendship
Friendship in the city can be anywhere, because it’s a relatively small city, everyone knows each other. It’s easy to hang out with your friends because houses are so close together. Friendship can flourish in parks, the schools, and their house neighbourhood. The mall can also be a place where friendship can flourish because that’s where people can hang around and go shopping together.
Community Reflection
This project was about thinking about what do you value in your life socially and physically, but also looking into your creative side to build a city based on what your group and you believe in and value. My group and I used the website citycreator.com and built a city with the values of Health, Safety, Trust, Entertainment, Community, and Friendship.
While thinking of ideas and communicating them we used discord, how we would communicate our thoughts on the project to one another would go as such, one person would say their thoughts, another person would either make a counter argument or agree, and if it was a counter argument we would all listen to them and go in the same process until we agree on every thought.
In my eyes the responsibilities of the project ended up just going a person’s shoulders after they agreed to take the responsibilities and work that followed accepting that part of the project, and no real roles were assigned because I/we felt it was not needed to keep the momentum of success going, so when someone felt they were not helping enough they would take on another piece of the project.
I felt we worked very well as a group, because we knew at least one other person from the group so I felt we got along very well, so in turn we got a lot of work done and were very efficient in planning the project and executing the plan.
Decisions as a group were made on almost every part in this project. When a decision needed to be made as a group for a specific thing we said our ideas and branched off of what we said to create and finish this project, so since we had a good way of going about things, we never had problems finishing.
I feel our final product was great, and I had a lot of fun making the name and thinking about what to put in the city. If there would be a next time for this project I think I could possibly plan my time a bit better, but other than that probably nothing.
