Paragraph bio about myself: 

Hi, my name is Eva, and I am currently a grade nine student at centennial secondary. Somethings you should know about me is that I do music and want to be a film producer. I have been enrolling in extracurricular music activities for about 7 years. When I was seven, I started playing the violin but ended up quitting, but then later found out that I had a passion for the instruments I play now. I play the trumpet and flute fluently, and play a little electric and acoustic guitar as well as the piccolo.

 I want to be a film producer because I always have good ideas for movies and tv shows. I am constantly rating and criticizing shows. Some of my favourite tv shows are Jane the virgin, Arrow and Dear white people. All these shows have flaws but overall have a good plot and story line. Some of my favorite movies are jack and jill, hairspray and the Truman show. My cultural background is Nicaraguan and Zimbabwean, but I was born in Canada and have lived here my whole life. My biggest role models are my parents and my family in general as well as my favorite Disney channel star Zendaya. Zendaya has always had a positive attitude in life and shows that in all the roles she plays. Zendaya shows this in some of her first roles such as shake it up and KC undercover by talking about real life issues and teaching them in a way that is meaningful and effective.

 For the past six months I have been trying to improve on my Spanish. I can understand Spanish fairly well but need to get better at speaking it. So, I have been trying by constantly listening to Spanish music, tv shows, and following Hispanic social media influencers. It surprisingly hasn’t been too stressful on me which is great but will probably get harder when I get put on the spot. The whole reason I am trying to learn Spanish is to be able to communicate with all my family that only speaks Spanish. They all know who I am, but we have never really talked, so I wanted to make it easier for them and learn Spanish so we can have a real relationship.

I chose this because I really like trying new foods. I don’t just stick with the basic stuff like burgers and fries, I eat a various things. Some of my favourite places to each include: Dae ji, my favourite Korean restaurant because of their amazing kimchi fried rice and pork cutlet, Politos my favorite Latino restaurant because they have great plantain, casava, and pupusas, and Sabai one of my favourite Thai restaurants because of their yellow curry, pad Thai, and beef with assorted vegetables. Usually when my friends or family want to know about restaurants and food, they come to me because I always have an opinion or information that could be helpful about it. I think I like trying new foods because I was raised eating all types of food and was encouraged to give them all a chance.

The website I chose was Spotify.com. I chose Spotify because I love listening to music. When I have nothing to do, I’ll hop on Spotify and listen to my playlists. On my Spotify I have two playlists that I made and two that I downloaded. The first one I made consists of R&B and some rap. some artists are Kehlani, Usher, J. Cole, brent Faiyaz, and drake. I like this playlist because everyone’s voice is really soothing, and they all have meaning to the lyrics they sing. My other playlist I created consists of bachata. Some creators in this playlist are prince Royce, Romeo santos, marc Anthony, and Myke towers. I like this playlist because it reminds me of when I was younger and when my parents would play these songs while we were cleaning the house or having a party. my other one I have is called Como se dice. In this playlist some of the artists are j Balvin, bad bunny, Rosalia, and Nicky jam. My last playlist is called Disney hits and basically just has a whole bunch of Disney hits. Some songs in this playlist are from frozen, Hercules, Aladdin, and, the lion king.

Quote that means something important to me:

I chose this quote because I feel that young people and people in general seem to care what other people think or what other people’s opinions are about them or really anything. Maybe in some situations that’s ok to do, but when you can tell that a person is truly being negative, don’t listen to them. If you feel that your opinion is valid and true to who you are, then you should pursue it. Negativity is what holds people back and is what keeps them from truly being successful. People are negative for a reason. All they want to do is drag you down to lift themselves up, and as confusing as it is when you put it into perspective it makes sense. No matter what you do you should not give into the temptation of believing in negativity. As cheesy as it sounds you should honestly just be yourself. 

Another reason why I chose this quote is because of all the political disagreements that are on right now. One specific thing that I would I apply this too is racism. Racism is one of the most negative things to out there. some common racist slants are, calling Hispanics illegal and rapists, or Asian people a virus, or black people dangerous just because they’re black or Muslims terrorists just because of their religion and how they look. These things are racist stereotypes that need to stop. Racism is even more than dumb stereotypes. Racism is hurting others identity’s, families, friend’s, and so much more. So, if you say you respect people then don’t just respect your own race, respect all races. We need to get to a place where we can all be safe and equal.

for the past four months I have been wanting to make a custom neon sign but couldn’t because I didn’t have any of the materials and didn’t know where to start. Now I have an idea of what I need to do to make it properly. I want to do this because my room is very plain, so I wanted a neon sign to make the room look better. Originally, I wanted to buy a neon sign but then saw that it was really expensive. I later saw that it would be a lot cheaper if I made it myself. So, I am going to grab all the tools and materials needed and make it sometime from next week to next month depending on when things arrive. The type of sign I want to make is in a box letter font. I’m not sure what it’s going to say yet, but I want it to be very bright and bold.
