Core Competencies

Collaborating- I can take on roles and responsibilities in a group: I do my share

While in groups if other people aren’t speaking up I tend to be the person to clarify peoples roles in the group and if someone needs helps with any of their responsibilities I will help them as much as I can while making sure my responsibilities are complete.

Social Awareness and responsibility- I can be kind to others, and support others when they need it

During the conversation assignment we did in partners, me and my partner were able to work together and help each other when someone didn’t understand something. During homework assignments if I see someone struggling or if they ask for help I always try my best to help them out, and if they don’t feel comfortable asking the teacher in front of the class a question I will ask for them.

Critical and Reflective Thinking- I can give, receive, and act on feedback to progress in my goals

Before finishing assignments and occasionally when doing homework assignments I will check in with a teacher or one of my classmates to make sure I’m doing the task right and if I need to change anything

Personal Awareness and Responsibility- I can persevere with challenging tasks and take ownership of my goals, learning and behaviour

While most of the time if I find something challenging I will still try my best to complete the task but at times, especially if I fall behind I can get overwhelmed with the work. I want to be able to stay motivated to prevent myself from falling behind and getting overwhelmed.
