Technology mainly impacts my life in positive ways. For instance, it was the main way of communication I was using during quarantine a year ago. Since we weren’t allowed to have social gatherings and see our friends and family, technology was one thing I was thankful for. Even now, I still use technology to contact people while following the COVID-19 restrictions. Because of technology, I could also finish off my last year in middle school by doing online school. Today, I still use technology for school on an everyday basis. I use technology to write notes, complete assignments, do research, and more.
Technology also gave me a way to pass time in lockdown when there was nothing else to do. A lot of the time, even now, I use technology to escape and distract myself from stressful situations through apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Tiktok. Speaking of stressful situations, technology was also a great way for me to let out my thoughts and emotions by writing them down or talking to a friend by text/or phone. Along with using technology to decrease my stress, I also play sports to keep up with my physical and mental wellbeing.
In addition, technology spreads awareness and important information on the news and social media. For example, especially during the early COVID times, we needed technology to stay updated with the information needed to stay as safe as possible.
