How has our interactions with trench warfare (letters from the trenches & “over the top” simulation) impacted our understanding of Remembrance Day and the contributions that Canadian soldiers made during WWI?

– Our interaction with trench warfare made me understand and realize how life can get hard in the war. It is a matter between life and death because there’s no guarantee that a soldier would survive in a week or so. Soldiers during World War I bravely sacrificed their lives to fight for our freedom and peace even though at first, they thought the war was an adventure and opportunity. They fought until their last breath. And, they gave up their lives for our own sake. Because of their bravery and sacrifices as a soldier, we celebrate Remembrance Day to honor, to pay respect and to thank them for defending our country against the enemy.
