My Book Podcast

My Reflection

  1. What were your books? Did you enjoy / hate / not care (for) them?

My book was You by Caroline Kepnes, Chelsea’s book was Killing Mr. Griffin by Lois Duncan, and Liam’s book was Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline. We all enjoyed them but I think we all could have done without reading them in the end. We had lots to reflect on and we could all think in depth about the storyline and how our authors came up with the ideas for our books. They were all really good books overall.

2. How did you feel about working with a group? Did you make the work equal? Was it more trouble than a benefit?

I usually do not like working in a group because I always end up doing all the work but this time I didn’t mind working with a group because we split the work equally more or less and it was overall a fun project. I knew Chelsea from previous classes and Liam was fun to work with. We made the work equal with me doing the recording and summary, Chelsea doing the editing, and Liam doing the opening.

3. What was your takeaway from the project?

My takeaway from the project was learning how to create a proper podcast and how to talk to people in a way that flows and that doesn’t sound awkward. I think I understand why Mr. Purdy assigned this project. It was for us to work with others and practice reviewing books and other people’s opinions in a discussion. He also made this assignment to make us get comfortable with each other in the class and have fun with a more entertaining and active assignment.

4. How was the use of technology in this project? Who did what when it came to the tech elements?

I liked the technology in this project. I have always been familiar with the voice recording app on Apple products so this assignment was not hard for me on the technology side of things. I’d say the only challenging part of this project was editing the recording and having trouble sending it and saving it as a video. Chelsea did most of the tech, but when I tried to help, I made it more complicated. Overall, the technology wasn’t hard to use and we all got the hang of it sooner or later.
