In this Assignment, I learned about how to write a short story in First-person point of view. I have written other short stories before that is also First-person POV, but not as in-depth as this one. I tried my best to used everything that I learnt from reading books and the different writing style that the authors are conveying, which sets the mood of the story. Reading it to myself often works in improving it because it will sound off or I didn’t like it, so it helps in editing it while also learning from my mistakes at the same time.
Core Competencies Reflection
I demonstrated my thinking skills by first coming up with a plot and a theme for this Assignment. I can reflect on my thinking by brainstorming ideas on how to show my learning and thought of how it will all come together in the end. I also ask some of my peers to give some constructive criticism on how I can improve it. I listen intently to the feedbacks from my friends and my teacher and proceeded with editing my work. I can deliberately learn about things that interest me, and new ideas pop into my head. I tried to be as unique as possible in coming up with the plot and I hope I executed that properly.
This picture of my Ideology worksheet is what I chose for this reflection because I think it showed my critical thinking skills because I answered it with my own words, which helped me understand it thoroughly. Although most of the answers came from the online textbook that was provided for us, I studied it and engage with the text so that it would have prepared me for the quiz at the time. Some of the challenges I faced in answering these questions was that, I had to read a lot from the textbook in order to find and summarized it. It all worked out in the end because by reading parts of the textbook, I learnt more necessary details about these topics. I will continue to engage with the text in the future.
Using the knowledge that I learned in Physics Unit, I was able to express my communication skills by sharing my ideas to my teammates that I thought was going to be helpful in creating the project. We first discussed what kinds of building or machines that we could do in a certain period of time. We manage to come to the conclusion that we should build a factory which transfers the power through the electrical wires that will power the entire village. Working together with my team has taught me to be more attentive in group discussions as well as give proper and appropriate feedbacks. It also taught me more about what it means to work with others, like being open to new ideas and being responsible as part of the team. I do my share of the project and and encourages my team to voice out their constructive criticisms and find ways to an agreeable solution. We were able to come up with strategies that was put to work the very next day about how to transfer and transform the energy of the Hydro Dam, which was or main source of power.
Personal/Social
I am proud of my accomplishments in everything that I do, including this project. My group worked hard and and put so much time and effort into building the Dam, the factory, and other things that we felt was needed. I was able to point out issues or minor problems about the project and make sure that I let my group know so that we could come up with a solution to fix it. There were times where I felt stressed out over the project due to not having the same free time as my teammates, but we manage to devise something to get past it. I enjoyed working with my teammates because we supported each other throughout the entire process of the project. I demonstrated a respectful, and inclusive behavior by always being on time on the agreed schedule.
Thinking
I was able to formulate ideas that were helpful to the group as well as build on the ideas of my group mates. New ideas comes into my head when a certain topic really interests me. We used a cauldron that was filled with lava and put something that could act as a stove which then represents Radiant Energy. I suggested a similar idea into how we were going to represent open and close system which worked out well because they also put their own creative ideas into making it. We used a jukebox to represent Sound Energy and crossbows that were placed inside a chest which represent Elastic Potential Energy. We also built a tv that is connected to the wires that represents Electrical Kinetic Energy. Listening to my teammates’ ideas was very informative. I learnt a few things from them and am very glad to have worked with them.
In the CPR unit, I learned how to do proper chess compressions and pinpoint where to do it. I will remember how many chess compressions to do per minute and how to take care of the patient. This is connected to the nutrition unit that we did previously because, if we are on a proper diet and exercise regularly we will have less chances of having a heart attack.
Core Competency Reflection
I can show a sense of accomplishments and joy and I take pride in my work and myself. I show my Personal Awareness and Responsibility skills in PE class by being responsible enough to study and complete the tests. I am proud of my work so far and I will continue to do so. I show my communication skills by asking questions when I need to confirm something and respond to questions that I know the answer to. I do my share in group activities and voice my part and do my responsibilities. I can identify my strengths and weaknesses, like for example, I can identify which sports I’m good at and what I’m bad at and try my best to participate well.
Some of my goals are becoming my strength day by day as I am practicing them. Goals such as getting proper exercise daily is part of my strength because I became more productive and actually listen well in class. I became more eager to learn especially topics that interest me, like Science. I set up a routine or a schedule of how I distributed my time, whether in exercising or studying. I’ve shown that I managed my wellbeing by the positive changes in how I manage my time compared to before. The exercising helps me be more focused and attentive in discussions. I will continue to monitor my progress in my goals by occasionally checking up and updating my schedule to ensure that I won’t forget. I took ownership in my learning by being on task and up to date on my Assignments.
I demonstrated my Communication skills through engaging in conversations with my friends and classmates every opportunity presented. We often discussed topics that is relevant in what were learning. I shared my own thoughts and opinions to the best of my ability with my classmates. Receiving feedbacks is interesting because I get to view a different perspective. There are times where we disagree on certain topics, but we often explain our reasonings that supports our cause in a friendly manner. This activities are helping me build relationships with my peers. I hope to be able to participate freely in class discussions more.
