Communication CC
I demonstrated my communication skills by working well with my partner in order to complete the lab. This took a long time to complete due to how accurate the measurements have to be to get the lightest shade of pink. My partner and I had assigned jobs of getting the right materials required. We then took turns testing out how to use the pipet and the burrette clamp. Since this lab requires more than one try, this allowed us to be more involved and fully engaged with the experiment. When measuring the HCl, one of us had to hold the pipet while the other will look from an eye level to get as accurate of the measurement as we can. The other one will slowly release the pressure so the the HCl will go down to the 100 ml line. After that, we communicated on how we execute the final part of the lab, which will determine whether we did it accurately. The substance cannot be a bright pink which is why me and my partner made a plan. One of us has to directly observe from an eye level while holding the erlenmeyer flask, while the other has to slowly and carefully twist the little knob so that not too much of the NaOH will be poured out. Overall, it was a very lengthy process but we managed to pull through.
