Knife Skills

This lab went pretty well, my partner and I work well together and work as a good team and we get everything done well. Some successes were getting better with my knife skills and I was able to slice and dice everything a lot nicer and more properly. Some challenges were playing with the heat. I burnt our strip of bacon and I struggled to flip it because I was scared of the grease spraying at me.

Some different types of knife cuts are handle or hammer grip and blade or pinch grip. We use different kinds of knife cuts while cooking because if you always held it the same way things like mincing or dicing would become difficult as there’s different ways to cut so what you’re cutting is easier to cut. Using different techniques while cutting food changes the outcome of your dish because cutting something wrong can effect how the food cooks or how the flavours blend in the end product.
