Reflect on how you manage stress in your life and care for your wellbeing. In particular, think about technology and if it is a cause or coping mechanism of stress for you. How has technology impacted your stress levels this year? How can you use technology to support you in you in your wellbeing?
To manage stress I believe it is vital to find things you enjoy doing to help relieve it. Of course the easiest way to relieve your stress is to get the task that is causing you distress done, but in between, as well as during the process of finishing the task at hand, it is important to take care of yourself.
Many teens today regularly use technology from small mobile devices such as phones for social media, to stationary computers/console devices for playing video games. I find a lot of the time teenagers are quite competent with their technology skills, so many use it as a stress reliver or coping mechanism. However technology often serves as a big distraction as well preventing the consistency and efficiency of everyday tasks.
For me, technology rarely is the root of my stress, as I tend to rely on it for a distraction. Listening to music and watching T.V. shows play a big role in my life, and these help immensely as it allows me to defocus and disconnect. An example of technology supporting lifting my stress levels, is by providing me with math explanations from the many easily accessible resources found online. Personally, the biggest negative effect of technology is that it contributes to my procrastination habits.
