About me

My Bio

Hi, my name is Kirsten and this year I turned grade 9. This year I’m (still) working on pushing myself out of my comfort zone and taking more risks, which I think I’ll find a lot of opportunities to do so in high school.

In my spare time I enjoy playing volleyball, my guitar or reading a book. Reading a book distracts me from things I get stressed about because I’m focused on someone else’s problems. I’m also pretty interested in Science, specifically Biology.

My Favourite Website

https://www.goodreads.com/

I chose goodreads as my favourite website because it helps me discover books that are similar to the ones I love to read. Goodreads is a website where you can find a book’s reviews that are posted by other people. I also think it’s a great place to look for the reviews of a book because there’s a feature where it shows a warning for a review if it has spoilers. I’m sure that 60% of the books in my collection are books I discovered on goodreads, so I use it pretty often.

One of my goals this year is to finally be able to get an overhand serve over the net. I’ve always gotten so close, but never fully over. During the summer my best friend and I kept working hard to improve my overhand serve, but unfortunately, volleyball is on hold because of covid. Maybe when volleyball season is back, I’ll be able to do it.

I chose this picture because I really admire traditional Japanese art, and this is an example of it. I think that the simplicity makes it very pretty and I love the vintage look that they have. I got this picture of off pinterest, here’s the pinterest link: https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/631911391436643802/

My Favourite Quote

“Venture outside your comfort zone. The rewards are worth it.” –Rapunzel (Tangled)

This quote is pretty self explanatory, but it relates to the goal I mentioned earlier of pushing myself out of my comfort zone. As a kid, I was obsessed with Rapunzel, and the movie Tangled and I really admired how Rapunzel slowly learned to become more of a risk taker and to stand her ground someone were to criticize her.
