Independent studying

I studied well making sure to use a lot of available resources to help. I could have improved by being more prepared for test dates and projects. I will continue my Japanese journey by continuing to look into culture and language to explore with friends if I could travel back in time to give studying advice it would be to be more prepared for things. I would also say to make a calander to balance all subjects.

Some skills I have developed to make my creative activities better are my ability to use all resources and not limit my learning to therefore take inspiration from multiple places

When faced with ambiguity or setbacks, I often gave myself time to think rationally over the situation and help myself understand that it usually isn’t as bad as I might have made the situation seem to advance the development of my ideas.

An example of something I have spent a lot of time learning about is the overall Japanese culture and understanding the difference between English culture

卒業のあと

Some aspects of Japanese have been easy and others challenging. The stuff I found easy was the use of katakana to say foreign words which often sound very similar to English. Other stuff I found challenging was mostly how the grammar all fits together and it is often very specific so it takes a long time to learn all of the specific uses of proper grammar. After learning Japanese for a few years my expectation to learn the language fully has tremendously dropped as I continue to learn the many different aspects of Japanese. I plan on continuing to immerse myself in Japanese culture by going there myself and i think being sounded by it will very much help my understanding.

The pros and cons of counters: I think some pros of having different counters is that it is always easy to understand what they are counting without any room for misunderstanding. Some cons is that it will be difficult for others learning the language to learn all the different counters and use them properly in speaking. とう is a interesting counter because it is specifically for large animals. The こ and つ counters are very generalized and can probably be used for anything. さつ is specifically used for counting books. Finally こう is used to count schools. I wish the counter for counting time was in English じかん because it is more specific and would help everyone understand you are not referring to a object. I think Japan should continue to use counters because it would be too drastic of a change

My Poem

In every which way, I am living

for potential. I’ve mined cadmium

enough to roulette with Death

and Mars, bloodshot brute,

is swollen in my honour.

My function is action —

to pummel through concrete

and machete hedges,

to shear the irresolute

with only wit and lichen-rich

perfume. Allow yourself

to make you is cross-stitched

at the bough of every ingress.

Fool is to worry. Fool is to wait

for someone to tell me what I know

already. I clap for a mind

that can change and will.

I harness nature’s fortitude

and call bats down to crush

the self-doubt that parades

as my true self in platform

Curricular Competency Reflection

I chose this poem because it fulfilled all requirements and also I related to the idea of the poem and liked how it was inspiring and self improving. I found this poem to be enlightening and helped me even find myself more through the poets words. I thought the constant practice helped me learn and I think it helped me tremendously. Outside of class I practiced with a partner who made me repeat the parts that I didn’t know more then others which helped me a lot. Writing a paragraph on the poem helped dive deeper into the meaning therefore understanding it more to then present it better.

-When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I focus on a very small portion at a time to not overload myself and continue working easier.

Law- Separation Agreement

About the activity

For this assignment, we were giving a list of wants for a separation agreement or divorce. We then had to negotiate and decide between each other and try to get what was asked on our lists. We then went to a website and made a formal document for a divorce. This assignment required much communication and debating between people.

I demonstrated this when during our negotiations I commonly gave my partner time to explain and listen carefully to try to make a good deal.

I demonstrated this when I showed how well me and my partner worked together to make the most fair deal possible so that we would both hopefully get good marks

This is one i believe i need to work on and keep in mind as a goal for the coming future. I will work on this goal by writing down my experiences and looking at how I would be able to connect them together

First ever debate artifact

About the activity

For this activity we were giving a controversial topic to debate disregarding our actual opinions. We would have to do research and create a script. It was required that at least 2 of your team members talked during the debate. I was one of the primary speakers and had to lead our groups ideas.

I can ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener. – I demonstrated this when in the debate we had to rebuttal the opposing side. I was chosen to lead our rebuttal.

I can work with others to achieve a goal. – I constantly was communicating with my group members discussing ideas. we discussed research as well as debating strategies

I can take on roles and responsibilities in a group; I do my share. – I did a fair share of research for me group. but I did recognize that others may have done more so I was compelled to then volunteer myself to talk to help make sure I did my part.

I can encourage others to share their voices and value diverse perspectives. – I was frequently asking others opinions in my group to help get a better understanding of where everyone stands

I can represent my learning and tell how it connects to my experiences. – believe I need to work on this because i have trouble connecting learning to experiences and ideas well. To do this I will reflect more and see how others have achieved this and learn from them.

Life saving measures

I’ve taken away a couple things from these last few days. I’ve learned that the drug use crisis is technically a health emergency same as Covid. I also learned that to perform cpr it may take very long even hours of constant check compressions. Most importantly I learned about naloxone and how it can help save a life. The impact these lessons have had on my life are that I am now much more informed about how to save people as well as that I may have to be in a situation where I need to save a life. I’ve also been been a lot more informed about the biology of all these aspects

B: i am able to analyze evidence because I have shown this by seeing how I can pay attention during lessons and apply them directly after. I can also demonstrate this during my pe class introductions.

Critical Thinking Application

When widest starting to weld my box project together. I had to get used to welding again since I hadn’t done it in a while. I wanted to learn from my experience last year and try to use the settings of the mig welders more effectively this year since last year I almost never adjusted the settings and therefore did not use the machine to its best ability. When welding and/or tacking my box I would constantly test and adjust the settings of my welder to best suit the job I was doing. I found this helped with the quality of my box and helped me further improve my skills as a metal worker. With the box there also comes issues of making sure all angles are at 90 degrees, this was more challenging for me but I was able to find a way to get most angles almost at 90. This was a successful experience that I will continue to improve upon. I’m proud of myself for experimenting and trying new things to improve my skills. I’m looking forward to gaining more experience in the shop and I am excited to see where this can take me.
