CPR Reflection

I did not know that an AED was and didn’t know that it was so important to helping a person whos heart has stopped. I will now always remember the importance of an AED and make sure I am aware of how to use it in case I am required to. I have taken much from this CPR unit but the main thing I took from this course was the actual process of performing CPR. This unit in intertwined very well with our previous nutrition unit because we got to see more of the importance of eating and having a healthy lifestyle. We got to see some of the consequences of an unhealthy lifestyle and better understood the reasoning for these health issues

Core Competency Reflection

I work with others to achieve a goal:

I demonstrated this when me and my partner had to work together in order to complete the practical CPR test. This was also demonstrated when we were playing volleyball and we had to work as a team

I can show a sense of accomplishment and joy. I take pride in my work and myself:

I was very proud of myself when I did well enough to get an A on both my practical and written CPR test. I showed my happiness to my friends in a way that made it seem less like bragging and more like showing my pride.

I can analyze evidence to make judgements:

We had learned how to analyze situations and recognize was to do in certain situations. As an example this could be recognizing weather someone has a partially blocked throat or a partially blocked throat.

I find it easy to be part of a group:

When I work with a group or at least one other person I feel some weight has been lifted off me and my stress levels go down making it easier to focus and complete the task at hand. Working with others can also offer other views that may aid you in your goal

My Core Competency Reflection goal

I participate in classroom or group activities that improve the class, school, or community:

I personally need to work on being more involved with the community and try to help out in some more simple ways. This is a simple and easy way to help out some more and make out community a happier place.
