I made potato soup. One of my favorite YouTube channel ‘kkulki’ inspired me to make it. The potato soup felt very soft like velvet. And It tasted creamy and a little bit salty because of some cheddar cheese.
I tried two versions, hot/cold potato soup. During the day, I prefer the cold one, but the hot one is better for dinner. I would like to put some More garnish like cheese balls. I think soft creamy soup can be matched well with crunch cheese boll shell and needless to say the mozzarella cheese in it. Stirring the potatoes and onion quite long was boring to me. However I knew that the longer I cooked them before I pour some chicken stock and milk and cream, the more scrumptious it will be. At home, potatoes are common ingredients and the troublesome is they can sprout easily. Therefore we should consume them as soon as possible. It is the right time that I cook potato soup. And when I feel under the weather, hot potato soup is as good as chicken soup. And it is much easier than that. The fact that I can make something when I feel under the weather made me proud of myself.
I made shrimp fried rice. I used rice, eggs, and shrimp leftover from the meal we ate for dinner. I panfried the shrimp and made scrambled eggs which gave the soft texture. It smelled like ketchup before I taste. I used a recipe that my mom taught me. If I were to make this dish again, I would put less ketchup therefore it isn’t too salty. The challenges I had to overcome was that I wasn’t sure how much I had to fry the rice so therefore, I asked my mom to taste it. The greatest success in this dish was my final product since it tasted really good even though it was a little salty. I am proud of making a meal for myself with my mom’s recipe.
I made dumplings for my family. It has a soft moisture surface with warm vegetables. This was a traditional food for my family starting from my grandparents. For me and my family, these dumplings are special since my grandparents always made this food for us when we went over to their house. While making this food, it was challenging for me to make the dumplings in shape. However, I got help from my mom therefore, the final product was successful. I am proud of making this traditional food for my family because it tasted almost the same as my grandparents’.
Recently I found an interesting recipe. The recipe is so simple that I am sure I can consider this recipe as a skill or technique but the behind story of this recipe has forced me to eager to try this. The ingredients are some slices of bread, cream cheese, blueberry jam , some butter. Given these simple ingredients, you can guess how to make it I think. Preheat the pan and put some butter and a slice of bread. On the bread, spread some cream cheese. And spread some blueberry jam on it. Here is the technique that makes this toast special! Heat this toast up in the Microwave for ten seconds. And then, you can see and taste the difference. While I was trying to this repipe the hardest thing is my doubt about it. Compared to the before and after the heat in the Microwave the gap is huge enough. I recommend people to try this simple but special toast.
After breaking out COVID-19, most people have to stay at home all day long. Therefore my mom is suffering from having to preparation meals everyday. Letting beside cooking itself, choosing what to eat is the toughest thing she said. And going out for groceries is also worrisome. So these days I am searching for menus and buying through the app called ‘Market Kurly’. This app recommend new recipe with needed groceries. And if I order some food before 8:00 P.M., they are delivered right next day.
This is a tool that we use when mashing food. We have to be careful not to hurt hands when using this tool. Proper way of using this tool would be holding the edge of the tool when washing food. If someone did not have this item in their kitchen, they could use a spoon instead to mash it. I made a mash potato by using this tool. I shared this food with my brother. I followed a recipe that my mom uses. If I were to make this dish again, I would add more seasoning to mash potato. Since it wasn’t a hard recipe to follow, there weren’t any challenges to overcome. The final product was my greatest success in this dish. I was proud of making this food for my brother.
I made Pasta with some veggies. It smelled like sweet tomato and it tasted warm and little salty. It looked good since the pasta had many ingredients in it. I used a recipe that my mom usually use. If I were to make this dish again, I would put less sauce since then pasta was too juicy. However, there weren’t any challenges because I followed the recipe that I am used to. The final product was my greatest success since it enjoyed the food a lot. I am very proud for making the pasta with my mom’s recipe.
I made fruit pancake by myself for the first time. I separated white and yolk and added milk and flour to make the pancake which wasn’t that hard and only took a little bit of time to make it. The texture of the pancake was very soft and the fruits on top made pancake taste more sweet. One thing I wanted to suggest for next time was to make the pancake more cooked so that it isn’t too soft.
The lab went well because our group had good communication which led our lab to be successful. It was challenging when we had to move around because it made it harder for us to communicate. It was important to have good communication with our group during the lab because it helped everyone work on their roles. Good communication means listening to others and speaking nicely. If group members are not communicating, there might be some accidents or errors during the lab. Therefore, to do a successful lab, group members should have good communication.
We thought that safety and sanitation were the most important things to focus on while we were cooking. Our labs went well since our group always tried to be careful when handling hot or sharp objects. However, there were some challenges, when we had to work quickly. In order to work quickly, we had to change positions which could have been unsafe. In the muffin lab, one of our safety concerns was putting the muffins in the oven since the tray was hot. I made sure that every material was cleaned up right after we used them. Therefore, the place was safe and clean. These things are important because there should be no one getting injured or sick during the lab.
