Creating A Model Factory Town

Brief History/Brief History: SummerPort was established by the Summer’s who was going on a journey to find a new home/land to expand their family and they came across a big chunk of land that was in no use, so they started building and creating a brand new town and called it SummerPort, it is located in Sunny California and is smack down in the middle of nowhere, but it had everything you could ask for to build a town and it is now very populated with everyone being close.

A. How was the ease of access in building the town, and what software did you use specifically?

Honestly, building this was not hard at all it was easy and the software I used was RollForFantasy.com it is a good software and a very straight forward website making everything easy to find and use once used to the design of it and the way it looks.

B. Were you able to apply the skills you learned in the planning stages appropriately to a digital environment?

Yes, because at first, I just could not find out what object was which because the website tricky to get used o because of the wat the website looked, (old style) so I was not used to looking something like that but once I got used to it, it made the process of creating and designing the town way easier. And I showed lots of improvement from the planning stage. I basically stayed with my original plan on deciding what to do but added somethings that I had to change to create my town.

C. What were the sources you researched that made this an “authentic make-believe” town?  

I didn’t really search up anything I just went with the flow when I was brainstorming and drafting my design, but I did get an idea of what it could look like from the pictures Mr. Purdy showed us when he first presented this project so that’s basically the only form of idea/ research I had because other that, I just went with the flow and I’m happy with the way my town turned out.

D. Is there other software online that could have done the job better? Explain

I believe there are lots of other software’s that could present the town more aesthetically pleasing for example I know Minecraft is a good one and Fortnite those two are probably the best games to use if you want a town that looks very nice and aesthetically pleasing and if I did, I could have used either one too. But honestly whatever software you chose it would have taken the same amount of time to design and create a town, so it really is familiarity and just personal preference in what you like to use more.
