This senior home lab I made was inspired by what my uncle usually makes. I looked up a recipe on what base is used which was chicken, but I used vegetable broth. I also looked up how long it would take to to cook the udon noodles because i have never made them before, It took about 4 minutes. I modified the recipe a bit by adding different ingredients that i already had at home. However, some ingredients I had to buy. I bought the noodles, fishcakes, and flank steak. I had some bean sprouts, mushrooms and bok choy at home. The noodles were al dente and the soup was very flavourful. I got to work on my knife skills cutting the different vegetables. Something new to me was cooking the fishcakes and flank steak because I have never used them before in a dish. I asked my uncle for some pointers and also did some research online. My family really enjoyed this, especially on a cold, rainy day.
