Breakfast Hash

Communication

In this lab we made breakfast hash, in my mind this was the hardest lab because we made a lot of different kinds of food. At first I felt I struggled a bit to keep up with the pace but I quickly adapted and worked on multiple things at a time to help complete the lab. I think the biggest challenge was tasting and seasoning the food; because i didn’t want to overseason but at the same time I didn’t want to waste time and only add a tiny bit of seasoning each time. But on the other hand I think the speed at which me and my partner worked was great because it allowed us to finish early so we could clean up dishes while the other groups were finishing. From my experiences I believe communication is one of the most important parts of cooking when you are moving fast because if you aren’t talking to your partner then you guys might get confused on who is doing what, and that will be a waste of time and materials. The easiest way to solve those problems is by 1) communicating or 2) choosing what person will do what before you guys start cooking. Good communication looks like talking to your partner and asking how they are doing and if they need help, and telling your partner if you need help; it also could look like you complementing the job they are doing and letting them know if your going to make a big decision that could affect the product.
