Games Assignment

by: Nora berg

The game that I played for all of my games days was uno. The strategy that I always like to start with is to sort my cards out in colour and number order so I know what I’m working with. It can also make it faster to take turns. after playing a few rounds I found it better if I save my better cards for the end so that I could have a strong ending and wasn’t stuck trying to get rid of a few cards. I think that my two strategies where very helpful in the beginning. I was able to pick up other strategies along the way. One of them being, when I someone else had one card left I would use all my reverse, skip cards and pick up cards on them to ensure they wouldn’t win. All of these strategies helped me be a better uno player.

How effectively did your group work?

My group worked effectively especially because me and Katelynn where sick for the first few days of the project. we where able to communicate and get things done. I would definitely say that Katelynn was the leader in this project, she helped us stay organized throughout. We all got along really well.

Were the behaviors of any of your team members particularly valuable or detrimental to the team?

I think that both of my team mates where very valuable in the process, both putting effort in communicating in and outside of school. Like I said before, Katelynn was valuable to the prosses especially in staying organized. Everyone worked together well getting everything done.

What did you learn about working in a group from this project that you will carry into your next group experience?

just to make sure we are getting everything done earlier on and not procrastinating on the important stuff, especially with limited class time. We did a good job communicating so I would take that with me to my next group project for sure. the final thing I would take with me to my next project would be the need to have patience with all group members.

my utopian city

Community

We value community in our town, as to show we have made a community center for citizens to gather and socialize. We also have plenty of flied space for outdoor community events.

Environment

We have a large un-touched forest next to our town for animals in the area to live and for the citizens to breath clean and fresh air. Another thing that we have added is lots of flowers. We made sure to have animals on a farm so, the citizens have a sustainable food source along with the vegetable garden we have. This provides all the food for the town, so they do not have to rely on other places for food.

Safety

We felt that safety was an important value for us while making our city. We wanted to make sure that it was a safe place for the citizens to live. To assure the towns safety we have installed a gate around to perimeter of the town. And in case of accidents, we have a hospital.

Friendship

We have multiple community gardens and ponds for our citizens. Where they can hang out and work together while gardening and fishing. Creating strong, long lasting friendships in our town. We also have a large fire pit for the citizens to enjoy.

Education

In our town we value education, to support that we have a school for all the children to attend so we can have a continuously evolving community.

Colours and symbols:

We have many flowers to symbolize happiness while also helping the environment. The community center is yellow to symbolize the sun and happiness and the warmth of the community.

Communication reflection

We decided to choose Minecraft to build our city, the reason we chose it is we where both familiar with it. My partner and i worked well together, making sure we both had ideas coming into it and sharing the work load. We spent a lot of time working on the design and developing the values and i am very happy with the way it turned out. We used our time very well, making sure to use our class time and free time at home very wisely.

my favorite website

https://www.allrecipes.com

The reason I chose this website is because I use this for a lot of my cooking, I find that is one of the best places to get recipes because it has a lot of things all on just one website. And there is comment section underneath so I often look at what other people have been doing and if they have any suggestions.

my favorite video

This video is really important to me because I always used to watch this movie with my family during family reunions and I made a lot of memories with it. I would always have nightmares from it but it would always be worth it. It would always be the highlight of my trips. And it means a lot to me and my family.

my favorite photo

The reason I chose this photo is because it means a lot to me because I took this in Italy in 2018. It was the best trip I have ever been on. I remember specifically when I took this photo, we had just come from a cooking class and wanted to explore the city so we got all ready and got Nutella gelato. We explored the city a lot before we stumbled on this Beautiful view, This was a very important memory in my life.

my favorite quote

My favorite quote is “when you under value what you do the world will under value who you are,”-Oprah Winfrey

The reason that this quote is meaningful to me is because I alway make sure to take pride in what I do, it is important to do so, because you need to know your worth. I think that a good way to do this is by always taking your time and making sure that you put you best work out there.
