Marketing 11- Core Competencies

Communication I can communicate well with group members in order to be successful   I communicate very well with group members to complete assignments. I was paired with Nico for a group project on community ethics. We we’re very successful our first day and completed almost all of our research. And the following day had to just create the powerpoint and touch it up to make it look nice. We we’re ready to present our presentation early making the quality very good

Positive Learner Identity

Using feedback to improve. Effectively being able to accept feedback and choosing to improve/ act on it is a critical part of learning. It starts with recognizing that your not your best right now and knowing theirs room for improvement. A big part invlolves discovering and identifying the issue. You take the feedback and create solution, ways to help improve yourself and get better. The next step is making a plan and committing to the plan of action. It helps a lot if this person who gives you feedback has positive things to say as well not just negative. For me it was when Mr. Sutherland helped me with english in LEC. His feedback taught me new ways to find solutions to help me be successful.

I can identify ways in which my strengths can help me meet challenges, and how my challenges can be opportunities for growth.” This statement touches on using feedback to improve every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow. You are identifying that you have strengths and weaknesses and choosing to improve on your weaknesses. You use these tools to help you be more successful when you face challenges in the future.

Projectile catapult Physics

I did the projectile catapult project with a partner. me and my partner made a catapult that had to land in a box that we taped together and not bounce out. We got 8-9 meteres, this project demonstrated the core competencies of communication, collaboration and creative thinking. Communication because I had to communicate with m partner to complete the project together. Collaboration because I worked with a partner and creative thinking because we had to make a catapult out of select materials and make a minimum distance requirement.

Sustainability Project

My project on renewable energy demonstrated my creative thinking because I had to learn about different types of renewable energy’s and select one I chose Biomass and geothermal energy. I chose those too because they are fairly researched and similar in how they generate renewable energy. My creative thinking was also demonstrated by researching why it is better than non-renewable energy.I also used collaboration because I did it with a partner.

Core competencies self assessment (social studies)

Collaborating

I collaborated on the religion in china assignment with Adam, Samim and Nolan. We each chose different sections to do and used the links provided to fill them in. We each shared are ideas and added to each others to make sure we had the best answer possible and didn’t miss anything. I can improve by getting on task right away and getting it done so we have more time to discuss our answers

Most Challenging Foods lab

My most challenging foods lab was probably the pizza in a cast iron. This lab was especially difficult for me and my partner we we’re behind and their for rushed. we struggled to kneed the dough and get it to the right size in fact we ripped it in the middle a couple times so we had to kinda patch it up and make a small crust. but eventually we got it onto the cast iron and put are veggies on we put peppers, mushrooms and two types of cheeses i’m pretty sure. we did get it in the oven and I was pretty sure it was going to be burnt by the tine we got it out but it was just a little bit crunchy on the bottom so I think we cooked it perfectly. overall this was a successful foods lab

Favourite Foods Lab

My favourite foods lab was the carrot muffins. The carrot muffins might not have been the hardest thing to make but it’s something a family favourite of sort and it was cool to be able to make the muffins and share the experience with them. I made the carrot muffins with Maddix we we’re more than capable of doing this lab on our own without having to ask questions to our peers. and the muffins did turn out great so since they we’re good I decided to only eat one and give the other two to my grandpa because those are my grandpa’s favourite treats as he says.

Breakfast Home Lab

My breakfast home lab was successful it took me awhile to get the ingredients needed to complete this lab. once I did so I watched a few videos on how to make blueberry pancakes and then I was ready to cook. I think the most difficult part of this lab was pouring the batter into the pan at the right size and not burn them. One of the things I was more successful with was flipping my pancakes and knowing when to flip em I waited to see the bubbles coming through and flipped them and didn’t spill batter everywhere in the pan. I was also careful when adding the ingredients to not over mix because Ms Bolli always says to never over mix because it could ruin your pancakes. overall I think this was a good home lab only took about 45 mins to an hour and made extra for my mom.

Most Succesful Lab

My most successful foods lab was the Meatball on garlic bread . I think this is my most successful lab because I was by myself during this lab and I was able to stay on task and keep up with everyone else and usually when i’m with my partner we’re behind. I was able to mold my meatball just till it is combined and did not over handle it then I put it in the pan to cook the sides to browned although my cast iron took awhile to heat up it worked out. Although I had to ask one of my groups near me a question or two it was mostly an independent lab. Then I put it in the oven for somewhere around 10 mins and then when I took it out to make it look nice I put it on the garlic bread and cleaned off my plate and then that’s how I got a nice presentation. I think what made this my most successful lab was doing it on my own.

Breakfast omelet

This is my Omelet I was very succesful in this lab. Some challenges I had with this lab we’re dicing my veggies to the right size having never made an omelet with this amount of veggies. I think the most useful thing I used was the pan because it helped me cook everything. This omelet doesn’t look the best but it did taste amazing and would make it again. This is one of the best breakfast iv’e had.
