1 Quality and Skill I Possess

I believe that I posses the quality of initiative, and the skill of problem solving/adaptability. When necessary, I am able to do things that I think are helpful/efficient without needing direction, and I am able to solve problems that arise and adapt to them, because one of my personality traits is that I like to try my best to figure things out before I get assistance from other people. I have gained these skills from my job which requires them.

1 Quality and Skill I wish to Improve

I wish to improve my worth ethic and motivational skills. I procrastinate often and easier tasks tend to take longer for me because I know that it won’t take long. My motivation skills are also sub par because it is hard for me sometimes to convert my thoughts into words and I’m flawed when it comes t o encouraging others as well. By the end of the course, I hope to improve these things by getting tasks done as soon as I get them, and interacting with others who I know have great motivational skills.

I can work with others to complete a goal

When it comes to working with others, I am able to do it well. As long as everyone is doing their equal share, I am able to work efficiently with them., For example, when I helped to set up with the parent teacher conference, we completed the foyer in 10-15 minutes because everyone communicated and worked swiftly.

During this lab, I used my communication skills to compare and determine results with my teacher and partner. Titration requires precision and teamwork to get the correct results. We repeated this lab 4 times in which each attempt got better than the last. My partner and I communicated well when going through the procedures of communication.

I can use communication in my workplace with coworkers to work efficiently.

Games of Reason

The game that I chose to play and write about was Minesweeper. The objective of Minesweeper is to try to find all of the mines in a grid by clicking on tiles surrounding them. My fastest time of completion was around 4.5 minutes in intermediate mode. The main strategy I used to win was to observe a tile that I clicked on, and determining whether or not the tiles around them were safe, AN example of this would be bombs in the corners, because that is the only place they could be. I believe that I used inductive reasoning during Minesweeper because I used previous examples to determine where the bombs were.

Math 11 Foundations Stats Unit Self Assessment

I did not know much about statistics. I was aware of mean, median, mode, and range, but everything else was knew to me.I’d be able to use those skills if I am ever taking a survey and need to know the average of the results.I felt like i really understood z scores well and am confident in my ability. They way that i was taught helped me understand quickly. A challenge for me was finding the percentage between two z scores, however i overcame this struggle near the end of this unit when it clicked in my brain. Reviewing past work and examples helped me achieve this. I would like to work on my studying skills as thst is my weakest point in all of my subjects. I have a hard time sitting down and focusing for long periods of time. I can get better by looking up alternative ways to study other than the traditional way of reviewing your work

Script self reflection

I used communication,collaboration, critical thinking, and creative thinking while creating my script.I used these core competencies when i created the script with my team members. We all collaborated to try and make the best script we could. We also collaborated when we practiced and performed our script. We used critical thinking when we checked over our script for mandatory requirements.

Drafting and Design Eleven Self assessment

This project required me to exercise my creative thinking skills when I designed my critter. The assignment was to create an object that was able to be articulated using pegs and other things. Because i was ahead of the class, I decided that I would go beyond the basics by using ball joints and sockets. I am proud of the mark I got because I worked hard to get it to work. If I could do one thing differently, I would increase the space between the elbow, hip, and knee joints because when my critter 3D printed, the space was too small so they mended together and can’t bend.

Automotive Technology 12 core competencies self assessment

The Tire Balance Lab

This lab had us learn and practice how to use the tire balance machine by ourselves so that we are capable of using the machine in the future when needed. I used communication while doing this lab by cooperating with my partners to finish this lab quickly. We only had twenty minutes to complete it and we did it in ten. Although I’ve used the machine before, it was good to have a refresher since it has been a year since I’ve first done it.

Cabinet and Design Project

I am proud of my Cabinet and Design project. This assignment required the use of creative and critical thinking to complete as we were given creative liberty with how the design looked. I had no prior experience using AutoCAD and Sketch up before this project, however my confidence was boosted when i saw my grade.

Core Competency Reflection

I can understand how my values shape my choices.

My values are what determined how I wrote this poem because everybody is different and nobody has the exact same opinions and beliefs.

I can identify and describe my qualities.

I know what my qualities are. Part of identity is being able to describe it to others. I know that I am strong at critical thinking and staying calm in stressful situations, but I often struggle with getting help when i need to.

I can understand that my identity is made of many interconnected elements.

Throughout the unit, I understood further how identities are formed and that a big aspect of it Is what you surround yourself with. Although that is one factor, there are many more including nationality and religion.

I can tell what is important to me and I can explain my values.

I know that my identity is important to me, I am capable of explaining that to others as I am good at expressing what’s on my mind when I want to.
