About Me

My Bio

My name is Sameera, and I am a Grade 9 student at Centennial. Some words that could describe me are Creative, Passionate and Kind. Some strengths that I have are my work ethic, my literacy skills and my problem solving capabilities. However, some of my stretches are efficiency and time management! This brings me to what I would like to improve upon this year. I hope to increase my time management skills, as well as improve upon my ability to get work done quickly and efficiently while maintaining the same high quality of work that I try to achieve. Additionally, I am a District Leadership student so I hope to build upon my leadership abilities this year as well. I hope this paragraph has helped you get to know me!

I chose Climate Hope Project as my favourite website because as someone who is passionate about the environment, I find this site not only helpful, but healing as well! There are many great articles on different topics related to the environment such as Intersectional Environmentalism and the concept of Circular Economy. The blog is a positive space that encourages healthy activism while keeping those who read it informed. Additionally, the blog contains firsthand interviews with environmental activists, members of the First Nations community and entrepreneurs.

My Favourite Video

I chose the video “The Science of Productivity” By ASAP Science. It is relevant to my goal of increased efficiency and time management because it gives helpful, straightforward advice on how to increase productivity while debunking some common myths surrounding it. I also like this video because it gives good reasoning and examples to support its advice. I found this video on YouTube.

My Favourite Image

This is a photo that I took while at Burnaby Lake. I love the beauty of the natural world, and this picture sums much of it up for me. The clear water, bright blue sky and lush green trees are a big part of the collection of things that make me happy!

My Favourite Quote

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Mahatma Gandhi

This quote is extremely important to me, because it represents a big part of my beliefs. I believe that if I want to see change, whether it be in my life or in the world, the change starts with me. I also believe in treating others the way that I want to be treated. Every action has an echo.
