REFLECTION

A) Finding problems and solutions were very hard for me. When I picked my subject for my project which was dynamite, I thought I would be able to find information quickly because dynamites were a well-known invention. For some reason, I found information about the previous invention of dynamite pretty easily, but I could not find information about problems with dynamite. Eventually, I ran across this website called Dyno Nobel. Apparently they are the only dynamite company that operates in Canada. I searched their company on google and everything they said on their website was true. I was able to learn the basics of the modern dynamite because of them. I found my problems and solutions using the most recent, well-known, and trustable websites. Most of my websites are from 2017 and I used websites that were well-known for their success such as National Geographics and Nobel Prize. Whenever I encountered websites that were not recent and popular, I looked at who made the website, the author’s word choices, spelling mistakes, the quality of the website, and I would compare that website to another website that I can 100% trust to see how much effort the author put into his website and see if they are a professional or not

B) I built my project using the problems with the modern dynamite to create multiple solutions to them. After that, I combined those solutions to create a visually appealing invention. I was able to make my invention look futuristic by researching and predicting how our technology will evolve in the future and using my predictions and information to build the invention.

C) Although the invention that I drew wasn’t the best drawing that I’ve ever done, I was pretty proud of myself for learning something new. For my solution, I was happy that I tried to make some parts of my solution logical. I just wish I could’ve come up with a better solution if there was one. Overall, I’m satisfied with my work, but I’m not proud of it.

D) I wish I could’ve dug deeper into all of my solutions because I feel like some aren’t deep enough. If I ever get a chance to do this project again, I’ll try to use more difficult drawing software and photoshop them later, so that I’ll at least get to learn something.

-REFLECTION

A) I know my information are reliable because I only used websites that were reasonably new so that I don’t have any outdated information. I know that the information from History.com and www.usnews.com are a little bit outdated, but History.com updated their information on January 30, 2019 and I used informations from www.usnews.com because their websites are well known and they used quotes from university professors which means that the information from this website is probably real.

I also read/watched through the whole article/video to look for any grammar or spelling mistakes because if there is too much then I know that the person who wrote this website is probably unprofessional or didn’t double check before uploading this website. I compared my website to other websites to see if the information matches. If it does, then I know that my information is valid.

B) I chose Sway because I wanted my work to feel more like a presentation. I was originally going to do use PowerPoint but I felt like that was too much for it. Sway was a great option for me because it was similar and simpler than PowerPoint. I can use different templates and background pictures from Sway to create a timeline like presentation.

C) I was satisfied with the result of my design because I was able to create a simple, but yet very clean looking timeline. I was originally going to make my timeline look something like a PowerPoint presentation and I think I succeed in making my work look like that. However, I wish there was an easier way of resizing the pictures on Sway

D) If I had another chance to do this assignment, I would search for more than 5 reliable websites and come up with new strategies on how to make sure your information is reliable.

Inspiring image

A Meaningful Life

I got this off of google image. This image inspires me to help others in need because the guy on the right is trying to help the other guy even though he must be really tired from climbing the mountain. Just like that, I want to be able to help others no matter what situation I’m in.

The things that happened on my birth day

These are somethings that happened on my birthday (July 16.)

1945: At 5:29:45 a.m, the first atomic bomb test is successfully exploded.

1969: On this day, Apollo 11 which was the first spaceflight to land humans to the moon had launched.

1979: Saddam Hussein became president of Iraq.

2004: Martha Stewart was sentenced to 5 months in prison and 5 months home confinement for lying about a stock sale.

1981: singer Harry Chapin was killed when his car was struck by a tractor-trailer

I got bunch of ads about comics even though I hardly read any… I think other students that search up comics a lot might get the same ad as me.

My favorite quote

“The key to success is failure.”

-Michael Jordan

This is my favorite quote because it makes sense even though it feels like it shouldn’t. When I was really young, I didn’t understand how you could become successful by failing. The quote started making sense as I got a little older. I learned that even the most successful people out there got to where they were by learning from their mistakes and trying again. For example, Scientists relay on failing so they can learn from their mistakes and find a better way to solve their problem.
