About this activity..

This was our first “big” project in the course worth a good amount of marks. We had the option to either do it as a solo assignment or with a partner, of course I chose to partner with my bestfriend, Anaka. we had to create a document of laws and how we would run our government if the class was in a plan crash and was deserted on a island, we were put in charge. The project was conssited of two parts, we were to speak about our laws and government, then we were to compare it to a previous legal systems as-well as the current Canadian legal system.

Core Competency Reflection

personal and social: I can identify and describe my qualities.

During this project I was able to identify and communicate that I had a creative mind to make certain laws and legal codes.

Creative Thinking: I can develop a body of creative work over time.

Throughout this project we needed to be creative and create many laws and ideas, at times we were at mind blocks and had to click into our creative sides.

Communication: I can ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener.

This project was done with my partner and in order to do that i needed to be active and good listener to her contributions to the project.

Social awareness and responsibility: I can find it easy to be apart of a group.

I worked very well with anaka on this assignments we equally contributed, I listened to her idea and she did with mine.

My goal is to be able to make this statement, “I can encourage others to share their voices and value diverse perspectives.”

If I had done this project with anyone else I don’t think I would have the same result as I did when doing it with anaka. I have a hard time encourage people I am not every close with and I can sometimes be stubborn. My goal is to become more diverse and challenge myself, a way I can do that is not always patterning with a friend and hearing what they have to say.

Critical and Reflective thinking

Narratives in the new was a assignment which i did well on, i took the time to understand the images and text we analyzed. I was able to understand this assignment using critical and reflective thinking, i considered what these images meant and their significants and made logical judgements on them. my strengths are having many opinions but not knowing how to converse it in words, i have a hard time with this and need to take some time on working with that. this assignment is an example of me writing my thinking out in a proper way and is an assignment i can look at references for future assignments.

Collaborating

My artifact is a written dialogue on going to eat at a restaurant . my partner and I had very good communication throughout this assignment. We both collaborated to creatively is come up with dialogue. We encouraged one another to stay focused and come up with dialogue that was organized and understandable .

Reflection

A) I was able to identify problems very easily even just by looking at a photo of the battery. i just researched about it to figure out problems and solutions, i had also looked at photos of it.

B) I thought of how the battery will be in 50 years and i added. I was able to dream about how the battery will be in the future.

C) Yes, i was very satisfied with the result i have because how nicely i uploaded everything.

D) I would use a different medium for my assignment.

Responsible, funny, and outgoing. Those are the three things that come to my mind, when I am asked to describe myself. I may be stubborn sometimes, but that plays in well with rugby. Rugby is my favorite sport. It shows how strong I am when tackling and passing, how fast I am, and how much effort I can put into something. My rugby skills can be easily converted into skills I can use in the games. I would be strong, fast, brave, and hardworking; which are great for survival. Another way I can survive is with my knowledge of hunting, I have the ability to hunt with knives and guns, and how to clean an animal when need. Which are all good survival skills

Reflection

I had the idea of creating a strong but evil fighter with my avatar. I wanted my avatar to be a devil in the arena but an angel in white when with family and friends. I also wanted to represent a strong independent woman with their tattoos, And weapons. During this project I had taken in mind what I am and what I aspire to be. I know I am a peaceful person, but I want to be a strong, and intimidating person when I need to be, so I put into my avatar. I had also taken ideas from when I play rugby. I would’ve liked to improve my perspective on the project, what I mean by that is I walked into expecting this project would be easy. It wasn’t once I looked at it, I had to make a person that is me in a way or person that I would want to be. It took some digging to figure that out. I had learned that I don’t have to be scared when it comes to my creativity. I don’t have to be scared to put red devil ears and white angel wings. I can do what my heart desires.
