While building my dresser in wood work, I have started with the two sides. These sides include stiles, rails, mutions and panels which I had to create numerous joints to attach them. Problem solving was used to create this project as I had to work through natural faults within the wood that would affect my project. with the side of the panels it is natural for them to cup and warp. knowing this I suggested an idea to change my plane and create two panels, rather than one to minimize the warping of the wood over time, as well as the difficulty to fit my pieces together. In some cases where the fit wasn’t perfect I used chisels to manually fit my tenons into place as well as sanding my panels for a more workable fit.

Communication
When working in a small group, I am able to work through the progressions of the assignment by clearly communicating with my partner to critical think of solutions. We had to actively listen as well as share our own opinions in order to categories the different buttons. We thought of ways to split up the buttons by comparing similarities and differences, and then further narrowed down the chart by comparing more specific features. When we hit stumps in our progress we shared our ideas and had a safe space to brain storm together without judgment.

My Poem: Beach Rocks
Curricular Competencies Reflection
The purpose of my poem was to show an alternate perspective of the lifespan of a rock. This abstract way of thinking provides a way for readers to feel the vulnerability and emotion that a rock may feel, when giving it these human like qualities. Although unexpected, the audience may find comfort within the alienated qualities and insecurities this rock experiences, and relate it to their personal life.
Creative Thinking Core Competency Reflection
Ever since I was a kid I have had a rock collections, so when choosing an idea to write a poem about, I thought I would be able to write in depth about rocks. The idea of picking things primarily based on looks is relevant for surface level things as well as in our regular day life. My rock collection from when I was a child was pure as I didn’t base everything off of the looks of the rocks. my collection varied and I collected some rocks that seemed to have no beauty to others, as colour or shape wasn’t something they offered. I used my past experiences and current rock collections, as well as the joy I experience when collecting rocks, to inspire me to write a deep and obscure look on a simple rock.
