My Digital Footprint

Sierra Smigelski

I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, including determining if I get a good job or many other things that can determine my future due to if I have a positive or negative footprint. So, I adjust my actions on social media by not posting inappropriate things on social media for the world to see that can come back to me and cause problems with my success. Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include keeping track of my digital footprint and keeping it positive and looking good. I try my best not to show negative things on my social media because I know it will be there forever. I like posting things about awareness on all sorts of activist things on my Instagram story. I maintain a health presence on social media by as I said spreading awareness on things like BLM, women’s rights, animal cruelty, racism, sexism, etc. I also like to post my favorite artists sometimes to my Instagram story. Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are not posting negative things to bring other people down. In the past, I have searched myself up on Google and I don’t feel like there is anything negative or inappropriate in my digital footprint. When I searched myself up on Google all I saw was my Instagram, vsco and I was on Burnaby Now news when I was in grade 2.
