PHE 10 AH Reflection

My Artifact

I feel tired this morning.

Personal Health and Wellness

Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle include working out more and eating more healthy. I do this by cutting out fast food and focusing on a more balanced meal that includes vegetables and enough protein. I also improved my water drinking skills by drinking at least 5 cups of water everyday. I also make sure to stay physically active at least 4-6 days a week. This helps maintain a healthy lifestyle and stay fit.

Core Competencies Reflection

I work with others to achieve a goal, I do this by working with others and running ideas with each other to achieve a common goal.

I take on roles and responsibility and do my part, I demonstrate this by doing my part and complete the tasks I have been given.

I can reflect on my thinking, before going through with an idea or strategy, I think of the outcomes that would take place and if I should go though with it.

I recognize different points of view and can disagree respectfully. If someone in my group or on my team has an idea and it’s bad I respectfully disagree and give another idea or brainstorm with the person.

Japanese Internment camp

By: Zhya Ghani

Should the Japanese Canadians be sent to Internment camps? I do not think we are making the right decision by

moving them to Internment camps, because they are getting their properties taken from them and have not done

anything wrong to be sent to Internment camps. The RCMP has proved that the Japanese Canadians have not done

anything wrong, and they are loyal to Canada so there is no reason for us to send them away. They are also getting

their houses taken and resold, and that is not necessary because it shouldn’t have been taken from them in the first

place. They are also ruining lives of Japanese Canadian kids who were born here and have no connection to home and

have done absolutely nothing wrong, there is no need to harass these families with young kids and splitting them

apart by putting them in camps, a kid on my sons soccer team was forced to live his life behind and go to a camp just

because he is Japanese. I think it is racist for us to put them in camps and they have done nothing wrong and have

been loyal to Canada so I think they should be let go and given something in return for the harassment they had to go

through.

Curricular Competency

I did assess and explained the changes the Japanese-Canadians went through. In my research

handout. I did this by briefly explaining what the Japanese-Canadians were going through and why it’s wrong.

I made an ethical judgement about the action of internment the Japanese-Canadians in my

paragraph. I did this by giving my opinion on why I think it was wrong for the Canadians to put the Japanese-Canadians in camps.

Core Competency

I did analyze evidence from the research I did and made judgements. I did this by reading the facts and coming up with an answer I thought was justifiable.

I now understand what is important to me and I can explain my values. I understand that we need to know about the past so history doesn’t repeat itself.

I can now understand and tell, after examining the facts of the possible threat from Japanese-

Canadians in Canada and the opinions of various people, the difference between fact and opinion. I understand why some people were scared and why they were worried but most were just stereotypes.

Core Competency Self-Assessment

Creative Thinking

I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others. For this project Me and my group were learning from our mistakes as we were going along and improving among them, I can also develop a body of creative work over time, at first this project looked very different but got improved a lot as we went along. An example of where I took a significant risk in my thinking or in the project was when I decided to increase the weight which was risky because it could have messed up the project and could have snapped the string. When faced with setbacks we took a moment to reflect and brainstorm a solution.

Spanish 10 Core Competency Reflection

Communication

During Spanish 10 this year, we were given an assignment to write a dialogue and were given a simple outline. I used this outline to achieve the basics and then add my own twist through communicating with my teammates. We then had to present it, which was fun and entertaining for the rest of the class, I had a successful dialogue through listening to instructions and engaging with my audience. Next time I do a dialogue I will change my work ethic, I would use all the time given and not waste it, and also try to add more advanced language in my dialogue.
