During the creation and filming of our multiple modules story me and my partner demonstrated great communication and problem-solving. we had countless disagreements about certain scenes and lines but we were able to communicate and find a solution that worked for everyone’s needs. A project like this is only possible with good collaboration and excellent communication between groups.
During this assignment, we learned about plot devices and how to keep an audience entertained and suspended. The skill we developed most while doing this assignment was communication and listening skills, Communicating and being able to listen to each other was extremely important whilst creating this assignment. We also learned a lot about perspective and how important a camera angle or different perspective can affect a scene or even an entire story.
I can resolve problems, In order to resolve problems you must be able to find and distinguish them and their causes. I did this with the gattaca questions discovering and using my interpretation of the character in the movie to distinguish, find and relate to some of the many problems he was faced with during the film. Being able to find and resolve problems is an extremely important lifeskill everyone should learn. often times their may be hidden issues or problems which are not easily noticed or resolved which is why it is important to be a strong problem solver.
Its December 7th, 1941, the recent actions of the Japanese homeland military have led to Japanese Canadians being rounded up like animals and stuck in internment camps. Personally, I think this is one of the only solutions possible currently. We have been warned they could be spies or planning an uprising, one of my Neighbors has been forced to leave his house and move although I have known him my family would not feel safe living next to a potential spy. Even if there was a small probability of spies, I believe it would be the safest choice. On the other hand, this is not only for our safety but for the Japanese Canadians as well. They have protection in case of an invasion as well as protection from potential spies. Although the conditions of these camps should be better and Japanese Canadians should be treated better, I think this was the best choice at the moment.
Collaboration through a Science Acids and bases lab.
My lab partner and I showed great collaboration through working around and with lab equipment. We were able to quickly and precisely able to finish the lab with accurate results. We assigned each other jobs to ensure efficiency. the photo was just after about ten minutes of work and shows our tests and lab paper.
During the last class, we were put into groups to talk about future timetables for our next schedules. Our group and I displayed great collaboration when discussing our options. We listen to everyone’s opinions and never directly cut anything out. We collaborated our thoughts into one big idea for each of the presented schedules. I personally changed my vote on the schedules after hearing challenges and thoughts from the others in my group; others asking questions I would have never thought of. This showcases the true power of collaboration in a group as even though I thought I was dead set on my opinion I was able to change due to discussion within our group. Next week I will attempt to involve myself in more collaboration with other classmates and friends.
What were your books? Did you enjoy / hate / not care (for) them? We all did Whirligig, I didn’t love it but I really didn’t hate it, Although I would not read the book again I did appreciate it whilst reading.
How did you feel about working with a group? Did you make the work equal? Was it more trouble than a benefit? I think working with a team makes it much more enjoyable and allows multiple perspectives I felt stuck many times when writing the script and having group members able to help/do different tasks when combined and working properly can speed up the process immensely.
What was your takeaway from the project? Something that I took away was how difficult it is to try to be purposefully cringy, I think we could have done much better although I think our end product was much greater than our original script
How was the use of technology in this project? Who did what when it came to the tech elements? I don’t really like dealing with technology although this project was very simple and enjoyable recording, editing, and setting up the microphone.
Tim Burton used music as a way of painting the scene, mood, and time during each scene in the movie. He did an exceptional job at using silence to portray suspense and mood during many scenes in the movie. The best this was done was in the water bed scene, Just the silence alone and ambient noises built up suspense and eagerness to continue watching. There is very little if not anything that I would change about the movie I think Tim Burton just about nailed it with the soundtrack/sound effects. What I loved was even if you were only listening to the film you would still be able to paint an accurate picture of what was happening and accurately determine a mood, time, and setting.
In a day mainly based around the internet and social media, you must put in the effort to maintain a healthy digital footprint. There are many ways to do so but in short, just try to think before you post and relook everything you show to the world. Also as the world becomes more wrapped around technology you must be able to check your sources and do your own research on topics to make sure you are getting precise information. I personally maintain a healthy digital footprint by staying away from any debates and only having a limited amount of personal information displayed.
