My artifact is the mitosis stop motion video I made. It is a bit rough but I like the little organelle goblins I made. I feel that I have communicated the metaphase and anaphase well through the designs of my little organelle goblins and how they move in the video.
Like the mythical frogger we so commonly refer to today I have evolved not only to walk, but to leap great bounds. Perhaps it was persopheleclese who said “It ainteth thee who oppose mr. Big Coir but our collective psyche as a hole.”. I believe it was the talking heads who said “And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile”, This reflects the position I was put in when I joined choir this year, not only because as Ethan Mcaffer put so eloquently “Victorious warriors win first and then go to war”, (Sun Tzu said that but Ethan and him have a lot in common, like being Asian) but also because I was a whiny curmudgeon and the sopwanos wouldn’t “sing” their “notes”. But with strife comes progress, like taking one step forwards and two steps back. All this to say I learned how to say broccoli fancily.
Competencies
If I had a nickel for every time I inquired a choir to acquire me to respire at the entirely perfect time so a perfect show could transpire, I would be a very poor man because that’s not a lot of el dollarinos. But the need of this technique was dire and my lungs were poor suppliers so I needed to practice breathing for my performance to be fire. In shorter terms, through tribulations and tribulations I have overcome my miniscule emasculated lung capacity showing my strategies for learning and practicing specific vocal techniques.
I take ownership of my learning and behaviour during choir rehearsals by semi admitting when I get something wrong. Then I proceed to argue with “Dylan Airs” about it for 20 minutes. I also stop talking when I notice Mrs. Goets staring at me ominously.
An example of when I took a significant musical risk in choir was when I came as the only bass from centennial to the music in the park performance… I don’t want to talk about how that went but it was indeed a risk because of the fact that I had never sanged with the choir from the other school we were performing with.
(A $3.97 jug o’ canola oil + A $2.27 bag of chili flakes) x + $ a $21.97 wok over x
The most mid chili oil ever and not even cheaper than a 205g $6.97 thing of chili oil that also has INGREDIENTS: SOYBEAN OIL, WATER, DRIED GARLIC, CHILI PEPPER POWDER, SALTED CHILI PEPPER (CHILI, SALT), SOY SAUCE (WATER, SALT, SOYBEAN, WHEAT FLOUR), SALT, SESAME OIL, SUGAR, DISODIUM INOSINATE AND GUANYLATE in it making it more flavorful.
22/10 WOULD NOT RECCOMEND, I ATE EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE RECEPITS OUT OF SHAME BEFORE I COULD TAKE ANY PHOTOS.
In some cases, DIY can be much more beneficial such as the sandwich situation in the example video where it costs less and is easier to make the sandwiches at home with the press, however in this case it is not easier to buy the ingredients that are just below the price of the store bought alternative, a whole ahh pan and working with extremely hot oil to get a lesser product. The disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined. One must imagine Sisyphus happy.
I don’t ever consider the monetary value of my time.
My labor cost is $35.55 per hour, so if it takes 15 minutes ($355 over 4 = $8.88) to cook the oil that would make the equation:
(A $3.97 jug o’ canola oil + A $2.27 bag of chili flakes) x + $ a $21.97 wok + $8.88 labor cost over x
When you are financially able you should put workers’ conditions over convenience.
Evidence that I can acquire information about complex and specialized topics from various sources, synthesize it, and present it with thoughtful analysis can be found in my paragraph where I summarize the guy with information like his age, is date of death, his origin in music, and the period when he was popular.
Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen when I presented my paragraph where I was able to summarize it in English without practice.
I would like to work on my conjugation and understanding of imperfect verbs.
I am clear on the difference between simple “group work” and collaboration as evidenced by me helping disperse important information between the slides after we all made ours. For example, many slides had the same information, so we had to spread it across the slides as to not repeat ourselves.
I seek, develop and weigh options as demonstrated by where I helped disperse the information across the slides. For example, the wide impact section originally summarized the Report a second time but was edited to remove some minor information to be kept in the wide impact section, while a lot of unneeded information was cut out of the wide impact section.
I want to start building off of other people’s ideas to be a better collaborator.
An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is…
I want to improve this because I want to create better projects by incorporating more perspectives on what would make it better. I will attempt to do this in future projects.
When I first started this project I was worried I wouldn’t write enough. Ironically I accidentally wrote too much. Despite that, I’m proud of what was written.
Curricular Competency Reflection
Core Competency Reflection
My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include searching up the meaning of words to make sure I’m using them correctly.
When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I attempt to start conversation by, for example asking what they’re reading if I see a book on their desk to somewhat break the ice.
In the wise words of Ethan McCafe “This year I was sigma!!!”, aside from the fact that I didn’t do any reflections. I also didn’t try to get any solos until the last concert.
Over time, I have learned to make choices that align with the choir’s goals and my vocal aspirations, as seen in my decision to attempt to blend more with my peers rather than try to make my voice stand out more. last year I tended to want to stand out more failing to realize that choirs sound best when they sound like one voice.
Within the choir community, I recognize my potential as a leader. This became evident when I joined Music Council. Unfortunately I did not end up doing much in Music Council but I will aim to volunteer more.
I prioritize my vocal well-being by consistently sustaining a healthy and balanced vocal lifestyle. This includes drinking silly drinks that help clear my throat. I also don’t practice metal screaming (unlike SOMEONE).
In the wise words of Ethan McCafe “This year I was sigma!!!”, aside from the fact that I didn’t do any reflections. I also didn’t try to get any solos until the last concert.
Working with my fellow choir members for our last performance, I contributed to our success by groovin and shmovin. I also smiled even though my heart was aching while performing.
Throughout our recent choir assignment and performance, I noticed growth in my ability to groove and shmove enhancing my stage presence. I can also hit higher notes now which is jolly good.
To further develop these competencies for future choir performances, I plan to work on my timing to make my groovin more effective. I will also attempt to encourage other members to partake in the shmovin while also interacting with them more during performances. I notice that I close my eyes a lot during Performances so I’ll work on that as well. I will also work on stuttering and pausing less while I introduce songs.
