The problems were easily identifiable in that it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that 5 miles an hour is slow. It’s quite heavy too and that is easily seen because of its massive size. The solutions were quite interesting in that they had to create a whole new form of engine, the propeller shaft. For this project, I just took what I knew about boats and expanded on it using online resources and the library. I was able to dream of the future in that now, we have gasoline powered boats and scientists are working on electronic boats. I was satisfied with the final product in that it is an extremely efficient machine. I would refine my project by doing a little bit more research on the future rather than its beginning.
