To me values are the things that you believe are important in the way you live and work. I have many values but the most important ones i have are my family, culture, friends, education and health/training. My future plans are to go to university in Rome with my italian friends and study law. Some of my passions are travelling, working, skiing, volleyball and going to the beach. My skills are hiking, science,dance and cooking.

Making and sharing Reflection

My groups plan for making scones was to get everything out and set up before we started, this helped with organization and time management. While making these scones we made sure to use a spatula to get all the ingredients out of our measuring cups to ensure there was no food waste. For these scones to have a flakey look we made sure to use cold butter and to not over mix our ingredients together. My group finished early and got to enjoy our scones in class, I would definitely make these again. Me and my group worked very well together and were very organized throughout this lab.

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I start a conversation with them so I can get to know them better.

If the group is not productive, we can try and get more organized in order to get things moving in the right direction.

I know the group isn’t working well together when I hear outside of school conversations and I see people not on task.

The ways I communicate while cooking are different from how I communicate at volleyball practice/games.

What is the role of the citizen of Canada? Explain the role of the citizen in the community and the nation, and as a member of the world community.

Personally i think the role of a citizen in canada is to 1. obey the law that the government has set for us to be safe and 2 pay the taxes that we owe to our government. They help all of us citizens with so many different things and we owe them nothing but respect.

I can tell the difference between opinions and facts.

Opinions are what different people think about facts, information or rules given to us, they cant be true or false. A fact is something that is proven to be true and in some situations can be true or false.

During this Critical and Reflective thinking assignment i think i gained some writing skills as well as how to think deeper into my own thoughts.

Plot, Character, Setting and Mood

Mood in literature movies means the way you feel; the feeling of the book. The mood i decided on for my story was scary, i used this song to go over my powerpoint because of the scariness behind it.

Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in group work. When i’m working in a group i usually take the lead and make sure everyone knows what their doing.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I listen to music to help me stay on task and not get distracted. It helps me stay happy and in a good mood.

An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is when I was in a group with people i didn’t know and we were all sharing ideas, i didn’t exactly like the one he shared but i built on it to create a better idea we would both agree on.

Making And Sharing Reflection

Making- Our step by Step plan for making this recipe was to all separate and do different things then combine them all as a group when we were all done our individual group. For example, one person cut the onions, one person prepared the meat, one person cut the bread and the last person made the butter mixture for the garlic bread. To minimize waste my group made sure we used all of our ingredients and used a spatula while transferring things out of our measuring cups.

Sharing- I shared this recipe with my mom and actually made this for my family when I got home.

Communication- As an active listener, I notice that I make eye contact while listening to someone when there talking and nod my head to show them that I understand the information there giving me.

While working in the kitchen, I help to build and extend my understanding by taking lead and making sure everyone is on the same page so there is no mistakes made while completing a recipe.

Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in food labs with my group. We make up a plan and communicate, that’s key for time management and one of the reasons were finished early

Collecting relevant information for specific tasks can be something I can work on. Sometimes I just put all the information I find down instead of funnelling it and only putting the necessary information down.

Our plan will work well because we made it according to what days work best for each person to cook, the family all together has many activities and the parents are always busy with work. The meals we picked are great options for there family, most of them don’t take up much time so they can have more time to relax.

Collaboration Reflection

Our group communicated by separating our tasks and doing some together to power through and get it done in detail. We shared information by sharing the link to our word document that had all of our information

We used our laptops to work on this assignment, our group was pretty familiar with how to work our technology and there was no technical issues.

Our tasks were distributed by each of us having a section or two of the table, once our tasks were done we worked together to find the problem.

We can prove what each of us did because below our table we have each of our names written down with what we did.

My name is Alexa Fazio, I am a grade 9 student at centennial secondary. I am 14 years old and I spend most of my free time playing volleyball and hanging out with friends. I love playing with my dog and shopping for clothes and shoes! My favourite subjects are P.E, Science, and Spanish. My favourite activities are going to the mall, hanging out with my family and brothers. I currently am looking for jobs to pass my free time and to also save up money for my first car.
