For my self portrait on Desmos, I chose to use an ellipse for my head shape. Heads are not perfectly circular so I thought that by using the ellipse that is more rounded it would better represent my face shape. For my eyes again I used ellipses because they have more of a football shape and I could manipulate the ellipses to look like a football rather than a circle. For my mouth I used a combination of parabolas. I chose parabolas because I have more control over the size and length as well as the height than I do with an ellipse. I was able to make the parabola longer in length while keeping it relatively short in height so I was able to catch the true shape of my mouth. By using parabolas it made it possible for me to be able to shade in my lips. I was able to make the top part of my bottom lip and the bottom part of my top lip match the corners of the outline so it looked good. For my nose I chose to use hyperbolas to make the bridge and an parabola for the bottom to make the shape of where the nostrils would go. For the hair I chose to use parabolas and straight lines. The parabolas made it able for me to get the shape of the my head and the shape of my hair line. The straight lines made it possible for me to show that I had long hair and not a bob or short hair.
