Cooking at Home #3 Stir Fry

I had this idea for a meal from this frozen meal I ate weeks ago from the supermarket and thought I’d try to recreate it. I already loosely new how to make stir fry’s while watching my parents cook it with rice but I didn’t know if the same applied to penne, the pasta so I looked up carious recipes online to get a feeling of it.Some of the recipes includes this video and this web page. The ingredients needed mostly included green vegetables, the pasta and some sort of meat. I looked in the fridge and found green beans, carrots, frozen green peppers, garlic, mozzarella cheese and just enough left over chicken breast to make it. Both the chicken and pees needed to be thawed so I submerged the chicken in warm water in its plastic bag and in hind sight I should have done the same for the peppers, instead I submerged it in water without a plastic bag. After unthawing everything I cut the chicken into smaller pieces and kneaded salt and pepper into it, then diced the vegetables on a separate cutting board. I placed my vegetables in two custard cups, onions and garlic in another and the ingredients for the cheese sauce, which was just cheese and milk in its own individual cup then turned the stove on with olive oil in it. The order I cooked went as followed, the onions, garlic and chicken were cooked on medium-high heat, following that I added the vegetables on medium heat, then the pasta and immediately after, the cheese on low heat. I topped it with some parsley and served it for dinner. It tasted really nice, the chicken cooked through, it was soft and tender, the vegetables weren’t cooked as I hoped it felt very warm as opposed to hot. Personally, the pasta itself could have been softer maybe next time I could start its boil much earlier before I start the sir fry instead of at the same time, however, everyone else didn’t mind the texture. The cheese was very prominent in taste and smell and melted well into the other ingredients but visual it’s not as noticeable, if I were to do this again I would prepare the cheese separately to thicken it then pour it in. I could’ve used a little less olive oil as the taste of it stood out from the rest of the meal but it didn’t take away from the overall taste. This meal came out really well for my first attempt and with some tweaks it could be even better. I would definitely make this again for lunch or dinner if I’m in the mood for it.
