I demonstrated Communicative Core Competencies when i clowned with an array of people effectively and consistently asked questions to improve the outcome of whatever i was making. And learn from my mistakes to better know how to handle them the next time.
The project went well, I enjoyed the creative freedom in making the videos. I found it difficult to find pictures that properly showcased the course outline. I only made one video. I enjoyed making the metal one the most it was easiest to make appealing. I learned how to use Canva.
One of the best ways to improve a product is to get the feedback and response from the public, it gives you a good idea of the reaction your product or service will get, as well as a variety of ways to improve it and make changes to better suit your target markets needs and desires. An important skill to have is also how to effectively give feedback to others and not cross the line between constructive criticism and plain criticism. The T.A.G format is a great way to practice and have an outline to guide you in giving feedback, it stands for Tell, Ask, Give. You tell them one thing you like about their work, Ask a question about their work and then Give them one thing to improve on.
Core Competency Reflection
I can identify and describe my qualities.
I demonstrated this core competency when I reflected on things I enjoy and am interested in, Then showcased this in my logo.
I can represent my learning and tell how it connects to my experiences.
I could work on better connecting my learning to my experiences and life, because I generally think of it as a very separate thing from the rest of my life. I am working on this because I want my education to reflect into the way i present myself and in life. I am going to accomplish this by making sure to keep this goal in the back of my mind at all time and remember what it means to me and how I value it.
This is the poem i wrote about one of my favourite fruits, the pomegranate.
Curricular Competencies Reflection
The purpose of this poem was to show the beauty and depth in every day things that are often looked over, it shows that everything in our every day lives has a underlying meaning. This poem was directed to anyone who would be interested in becoming more connected to beautiful things in their life, This poem is personal to me because I always thought pomegranates were really unique and beautiful fruit. I planned this poem out by first deciding to use a Shakespearean rhyme scheme for the structure of the poem, and made sure to incorporate many poetic devices. In order to paint a better picture in this poem I used as many descriptive words as I could.
Creative Thinking Core Competency Reflection.
I chose the topic for my poem by thinking about my favourite food or fruit and vegetable because of Pablo Neruda‘s poems. I formed my own original idea to create the poem by thinking about how it felt to look at feel and eat pomegranates. A strategy that really helped stimulate my imagination was to follow a rhyme scheme because if I had to rhyme the last word it was easier to find what to say. Something innovative about my poem was I talked about how the pomegranate affected me and how I feel they are not worth all the work it takes to get to enjoy them. I could work on trying to use more complex poetic devices.
In math we had to do a project based on buying things to fill a bedroom, this helped me reflect on my shopping habits, because it made me see that i should learn how to better budget my money. I can make ethical choices in buying products, in order to make sure the goods i’m buying are fairly made.
“I can recognize my strengths and take responsibility for using strategies to focus, manage stress, and accomplish my goals”. I demonstrated this core competency this month when I was making and presenting my Marketing P assignment because I recognized public speaking is not necessarily one of my strengths so I managed my stress by making sure I was as prepared as possible.
I made peanut butter bon bons, they are rice krispies peanut butter and chocolate. They taste like chocolate, they look like chocolate meatballs, they smell like semi sweet chocolate. My Mom, Gramma and I always make these along with lots of other baked good at Christmas time. The tradition started with my Gramma and my Great Gramma. The meaning behind it is I love baking at Christmas time it is always so fun. It is the same meaning for the rest of my family. The best part of this tradition is eating it all at the end. A challenge I came across was dipping them in chocolate, it was a slow and difficult process. My greatest success was the end product because they were very tasty. I am most proud that I did this by myself because it usually is a team effort.
I made rice and quinoa pilaf with carrots, celery and onion, as well as balsamic vinegar parmesan green beans and chicken with soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic. The chicken looked golden with chard lined from the bbq, the rice looked like rice and the green beans looked evenly coated with balsamic vinegar. The chicken smelled sweet and savoury, the rice smelled like carrots and celery, the green beans smelled like balsamic. The chicken tasted sweet and savory, the rice tasted like rice with carrots and celery, the green beans tasted to strongly like balsamic. The chicken sounded crispy, the rice sounded soft, the green beans sounded squeaky. I didn’t feel any of it because I used a fork. I didn’t use a recipe but I did get some help from my mom on what to do next a few times, but other than that I made it up. If I was going to make this dish again I would put less balsamic in the green beans it was too strong. A challenge I faced was not knowing how to bbq, I overcame this by getting my dad to help me. My greatest success with this dish was the rice quinoa pilaf, I had never made this before and i ended up really liking it. I am most proud of the chicken because I liked learning how to make it.
For my second cooking at home dish I made fish tacos, using cod, homemade coleslaw and mayo chipotle sauce. it smelled like fried fish, it looked crispy and golden, it sounded crunchy, it tasted like fried fish and creamy avocado, It felt like a tortilla. I made this recipe up. If I was going to make this dish again I would do a different sauce on the coleslaw.Something I overcame with this dish was struggling to fry the fish, because I had never done that before, I overcame that by getting help. My greatest success with this dish was making and preparing the fish, because it was fun and new. I am most proud of doing most of it by myself, because it was fun to be cooking more independently.
